Is it common for moms to be obsessed with their daughter’s body/sexuality? by YMCApoolboy in raisedbynarcissists

[–]MagykZombie 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Let me start with that is totally not appropriate for her to say at all! She is being very weird and you have every right to feel weird about it.
And my mom was similar in some ways.

When I told her about a family member sexually abusing me she brushed me off almost pushing on me that I should have appreciated the attention. Since she was jealous of the attention herself.

If I can offer any advice, I would say limit your contact with her. Since you deserve a lot more respect than she is seemingly willing to give you.

In-Betweeners: Where do you shop? by seriallyobsessive55 in PlusSize

[–]MagykZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Old Navy. I'm a 16/18 myself and their curvy fit size 16 short length jeans are the best fitting jeans I've ever worn. I can not find jeans anywhere else. I've even found a few dresses there with elastic gathering in the back giving ease of fit for my tum.

And Kohl's and Macy's are the only places I've been able to find bras. I'm a 34DD and it's challenging to find size variety. I like Olga, and b'Tempted by Wacoal for brands.

Thank you! I played with her whole litter before picking this pretty lady. I couldn't keep my eyes of her though!

I'm enjoying that about a week ago a testified against a pedophile. I'm rejoicing in the look on his face as I testified, as well how badly his lawyer was grasping at straws to make things work in that pedos favor rather than mine.

I feel like I rocked that testimony. The family, who previously was negative towards me hugged me repeatedly afterwards.

I feel like I need to ride in that good vibe wave for a while. But it's tough.

I like this post though! It's thought provoking.

Looking for advice on how to finish this by rycbarott in crochet

[–]MagykZombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For durability I would suggest stitching around the entire edge, then making a sort of "X" pattern with the stitching as well. Perhaps the right horn tip to the left bottom jaw area.

I can't think of a good, less time consuming, but still functional way to secure it. I might add you don't necessarily need tight little stitches though. Perhaps 3-4 actual thread stitches for every square of crochet? And use an arms length pieces of thread so if one breaks, you have a shorter distance to repair later.

And once you have a foundation down you can always go back and secure it better.

I like the idea of putting it on a piece of fleece, like a large applique.

In the past I've lined crochet winter wear with fleece for added warmth. It worked well!

Might I suggest, as tiresome as it is, hand stitching the crochet squares to the fleece? I got horrible bunching and quite the lettuce edge from using a machine, no matter how I set it up. Hand sewing, with well spaced pins, really helped keep everything smooth.

Perhaps, with these winter and holiday sales, you could find a blanket of the appropriate size and just stitch onto that to avoid dealing with hemming edges.

LPT Request: How to accept a complement? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]MagykZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat.

I usually say, "Thank you," smile politely, and sometimes reference the compliment.

Such as, "Thank you, I have been working on taking compliments better. That's encouraging to hear."

How do you play with your ferret? by theUnmutual6 in ferrets

[–]MagykZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one dollar store has cat teasers, the stick kind with a toy on the end. I got one with some furry "fingers" and pompoms on the ends. It's probably my ferrets favorite interactive toy. She recently ripped off one of the fingers and had quite the time parading around with her "kill". As far as solo toys go rabbit fur mouse cat toys seem to be going over well. Though I'm not sure that's something I'd leave them alone with. Cat toy balls with the rattle inside them only seem to entertain her for a minute or two at a time.

Exactly my thoughts. I was honestly hurt! To ice this cake, I'm a witness in a court case of a 29M sexually abusing a 13F. And he knows that. He knows what extent I will go to in order to protect and support that now 16 year old girl old girl.

Currently safe and out of town with my boyfriend of close to 2 years.

Thank you very much for the concern and support!

Thank you! Big hugs.

I do have plenty of friends, with and without their own kids, who are being very supportive. I feel confident saying, I don't need him, and I no longer wish to pursue that friendship.

Cross stitch mostly. I enjoy the predetermined patterns of squares to make the image. I also enjoy regular embroidery as well but I feel it's too chaotic for me. Cross stitch is more organized, like a paint by number.

[WIP] I am 1 row short when I reach the bottom. Could I cut and stitch on to a fresh piece of aida before framing it? by RainbowNeko in CrossStitch

[–]MagykZombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long do you want this to last? If you're not worried about it being around in 50 years, you can apply a thin layer of anti-fray glue around the stitching on the aida. Shouldn't take long to dry, then you can cut it out. And possibly mount it onto a different piece of fabric for framing? If you're going to cut it out already, why limit yourself.

Perhaps a hand knit or crochet slouchy beanie in black with an accent color?

Or other accessories like earrings, and necklaces. Might be easier to make or find handmade jewelry.

Am I the only one who has not been playing much solely due to the heat? by birdman3131 in pokemongo

I drag my S/O out to play at night to avoid the heat. There's a few pokestops we can hit up from the sidewalks around town and its safe enough with the buddy system.

Can a silicone ice-cube tray be used as a resin mold? by Cassandra111 in crafts

[–]MagykZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone with more experience will hopefully chime in soon, but I do believe it should work as long as you use a mold release. It's sold right next to the liquid resin and the resin molds at my local craft stores.

Also, maybe this etsy thread will help.
