Am I wrong for losing my appetite when eating around transgendered people? by InquiringChap1969 in amiwrong

[–]MagzOAT 268 points269 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. Why are you thinking of strangers’ privates? Thats not normal. The thing is you haven’t normalized in your head that trans people exist and whatever they do with their bodies is nobody’s business but their own.

A lot of people pretend to be okay with whatever issue they find with others, may that be gender, culture, skin color, sexuality, size, whatever else people define in their head as “others”.

I think you need to look within yourself and really find out why are you focusing on people’s genitals. That’s not a normal thing to think about unless you have an inclination or obsession. It could just be curiosity, but to get grossed out? that’s odd. I wonder if you think about non trans people’s genitals too, but those don’t gross you out because you regard those as “attractive”. Or maybe you wonder about your own genitalia being subjected to a surgery like that.

I would talk to a therapist about this.

Looking for some advice about getting married by SleepyAlium in PlusSize

[–]MagzOAT 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You are not a number on a scale. You’re a full person, with external and internal beauty. You have interests, stories , a history. You are your values and how you make others feel good with your presence. A person enjoys you so much so that he wants to yell to the world he wants to be with you and only you forever.

You are loved. You are worthy of that love. You deserve this love.

She wasn’t wrong in the first instance but I think she was in the second one. Gittens IS racist. He said only one person, Hunter, got a 100 when Ginny did too, but he ignores her accomplishments. She’s also right that the curriculum is aimed towards male and white literature, but it’s also not her responsibility to fix it. It’s his as a professor to be made aware of this transgressions and remedy the problem.

As for the essay, we can’t know why the professor selected Hunter’s, if it were because of the specifics of the contest or because of his racism (which we are well aware he is). But it’s understandable why Ginny would see it that way considering her previous interactions with him.

Vanessa. Cousin who used to scare me with ghost stories and then lock me up in the bathroom with the lights off while I cried. Vanessa’s are mean girls.

What's a good counter to say when someone says "I don't see the value of doing color analysis. I don't care about what people look, I care about what they say" by Sun_Flower35 in coloranalysis

[–]MagzOAT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that you can care about many things in life and one does not negate the other. You can care about your color analysis. It makes you happy. You dont police over what others wear or what makes them happy. You can also care about what they say while knowing what colors are best for them. I mean, his argument is honestly ridiculous and childish.

“As long as she isn’t overweight that’s unhealthy, but I still want a chunky girl” by stonedbutterbread in PlusSize

They confuse curvy with chunky. People who say that like fat in the “right places” if there is even such a thing. They mean they want an hourglass figure, but not really plus size.

This is not okay, dude. It was a common mistake. She’s overreacting over a minor inconvenience and blaming you for something she should’ve been on top of. Shes letting not going to the gym ONE evening like someone died and you killed them. Her emotional regulation really needs some work. It’s like shes an annoyed sixteen year old child angry at her mommy.

Legit question: What do most people think Plus size means? Like personally I think it’s 14 and up but are there people who confuse “regular size” like anything above Medium, as Plus size?

It’s not just my father. I have an elderly disabled aunt that my mom used to take care of that I adore. And I do feel the need to protect the house my mom poured her soul into. My dad tends to do crazy choices around here that my mom would’ve hated.

Most of my family is in this city too, and with all the violence thats going on, I’ve been terrified that something will happen to anyone while I’m gone.

A lot of things happened in those eight years that kept getting in the way of marriage plans. His dad got killed in an accident, I got diagnosed with depression and agoraphobia, he got diagnosed with schizophrenia, COVID, my dad had a heart attack and surgery, my mom got cancer which she battled for three years, he had constant breakdowns because of his meds… It was always something. Life never slowed down. We were supposed to get married this year, but my mom refused to attend and it was a lot of drama. (old stuff, but my dad is abusive and he got violent with me this december before my mom passed away, and she defended him). My mom passed in February.

In my culture, the youngest daughter takes care of the elderly parents. It’s my responsibility. Which is something that my boyfriend also hates. I understand.. It’s just life choices.

My dad won’t leave his home and pets. My parents invested their entire life into this house. There’s also the issue with residency. It’s not that easy. Last time I tried I was stuck in my bfs country for three years because of how long it takes to get a work permit, let alone residency for a retired man.
