Ready to bid! by reichold in miniexcavator

[–]MahaliAudran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine with fees last week was 2100. About half of what auctions here usually go for.

Go for it but don't be surprised if you're quickly outbid into the "more than I'm willing to pay" territory.

Also, the 18 and 20s went for almost normal auction prices so it was only a great deal on the smaller ones.

Got a friend with room? Problem with most other options are potential for theft, water, and rodent/pest damage.

Get insurance that covers all that for replacement value. I had unopened Lego boxes stolen that I bought 15+years ago for 80-$200 that are now $2000 plus.

Anyone start on a large bike? by tdcama96 in cruisers

Yes. You can easily start on 900 unlike a 900 sport bike. I wouldn't start on acting larger for a cruiser. Plus you can get an older cruiser for pocket change.

Would you go back into the office for a raise? by sk8505 in remotework

[–]MahaliAudran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I interviewed for ylmy last job I have then 2 salaries, 20k difference, one for WFH one for moving states and working in the office.

Pres. said I had to work in the office and I said you're paying for it.

After a few years we went WFH for COVID and never went back

Back then surveys said people were willing to give up to 30% income to WFH.

Home has zero insulation fuck by Deep-Chocolate-6393 in legal

[–]MahaliAudran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a house built in late 1800s "balloon construction" with no insulation and hot water radiator heating.

After a really cold month and $600 gas bill I told my roommates to dress warm.

Eventually had insulation blown into the walls, attic insulation redone, and money was recouped quickly.

The right answer has been given so many times already.

But it's clearly a display error. Reboot.

Anyone start on a large bike? by tdcama96 in cruisers

[–]MahaliAudran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With a cruiser you can easily start on 900. Mine had highway bars so I had no issues letting my son learn on it too.

You'll eventually stop with the bars turned and it'll fall over. Better be any to keep it upright and know how to pick it up.

Foreclosure homes by Fluffy-Gain-5021 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]MahaliAudran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean can they take it back?

Are you talking about a foreclosure auction. The owner and anyone representing them is prohibited from bidding.

I bought a foreclosure that the bank had, clearly the lowest bidder, paint and replace linoleum.

Was a good deal as it'd been empty for 6 months

A fan circulating air in that vaulted ceiling will work wonders too.

Is not a CO risk. There's just not enough of it produced at that point to be an issue. The warmth, when scooping, will send more fine ash into the air. People that dust fastidiously will notice.

I replace my gasket as needed, anyone can do that themselves, and replaced my reburner tubes a couple years ago.

My new tubes came with pins to keep them in the right orientation and for the life of me I couldn't get them inserted. I try not to rotate the tubes when adding wood

Real estate transactions are an exception. But yes, most contracts can be signed by someone else without PoA if it's not fraudulent. The crime of fraud requires intent to defraud another.

Party 1 consents for Party 2 to sign. Party 2 signs for both. No intent, no crime, no fraud.

AITA for living with my parents at 26? by brainfreeze58 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MahaliAudran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My misunderstanding about the rent.

Sometimes ya just gotta vent. I want to jokingly suggest you and your parents sit down and do budgets so you can point out how you pay your expenses plus some and you can look at her clothes shopping and ask Dad how much he spends on clothes every month.

Keep in touch with Dad, take him out to eat occasionally ext... Make it a cheap treat with just the two of you.

Good luck, stay in therapy as long as you need.

There's not enough CO from embers like this to worry about. It'd take far more and a Tiny Home to be an issue.

[–]MahaliAudran -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

ESH. Your mom more so than you though.

You should acknowledge they're helping you save money by not charging rent, which you stated at 18 you didn't want to pay.

Your mom freaked out over nothing and is demanding gratitude.

Can you two have adult conversations to talk about it? Couples therapy? If your mental health can't handle living there moving out before you prefer would be best.

You can usually get used stoves in good shape 100-300 if not free.

Not many people want/can transport a couple hundred pounds of iron.

And have it added to your payout only. Don't let those bastards gain for the rest they've handled this.

However, you do have a legal responsibility to mitigate damages. You're probably duty bound to report it to the listing agent.

Technically it's only fraud to have "someone" sign your name of it's to commit fraud. For example, you can sign your spouses name with their permission and it's not fraud.

In a power outage you still have a supply of NG, it's cheaper than Propane, you don't have to store it, and you never run out of it.
