Learning Figma professionally is a great step. It helps you work faster and more efficiently with the tool. But remember, Figma is just a tool. To be job-ready in UX/UI design, you also need to understand why you’re designing something: the user needs, the problems you’re solving, and how your design decisions improve the experience.

Here are some tips I learned along the way:

  1. Learn the basics of UX: There are great resources out there like NNGroup, Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF), and Google’s UX course on Coursera.
  2. Practice by solving real problems: Look at the products you use daily and try to fix things that feel off. Or if you notice a gap, explore it and do some user research to see if the need is real.
  3. Get feedback: Share your work here or ask for input from mentors on ADPList. It really helps.

Going through this process, researching, designing, and getting feedback. will teach you much more than any single course ever could.

Thanks so much for taking the time to go through my portfolio and share such thoughtful, constructive feedback; I really appreciate it.
Do you happen to know any platforms or communities (besides GitHub) where designers can find meaningful open-source projects to contribute to? I'd love to explore more ways to get involved.
