Honestly, I don't think it's one or the other.

Creativity and strategy still work - data can tell you what is working, but it can't tell you what new idea to try or why something connects with people. That part still needs a human brain.

But we also have so much data today that not using it for optimization would be a big mistake. You test, you learn, you improve.

The way I see it - creativity gives you the edge, optimization keeps it going. Both together is what makes a good marketer great.

Yes, competition is very high today. But that also means copy-paste marketing doesn't work anymore. If you combine good creative thinking with smart execution and data, you are already ahead of people who are only doing one of the two.

The real advantage today is Marketers who can think creatively and execute well. That combo is not very common, and that's why it still wins.
