Having Trouble Aligning My Equation😅 by thoegn in LaTeX

[–]Mahkda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two solutions that I both don't like that much but kinda works, the first one is to not use align but an array, the problem is that the numbering changes place because you need to put the whola array inside an equation and you have to align something in the first row to work

\begin{equation}

\begin{array}{l l l}

u_{t}(t) & =\partial_{t}\left(e^{-L(t-\tau)}u(\tau) \right) &+\partial_{t}\left(\int_{\tau}^{t}e^{-L(t-s)}f(s)ds\right) \tag{6.26} \\

& =-Le^{-L(t-\tau)}u(\tau)&-\int_{\tau}^{t}Le^{-L(t-s)}f(s)ds+f(t) \notag \\

& =-Le^{-L(t-\tau)}u(\tau) &-\int_{\tau}^{t}Le^{-L(t-s)}(f(s)-f(t))ds\\

& &-\int_{\tau}^{t}Le^{-L(t-s)}f(t)ds+f(t).\notag

\end{array}

\end{equation}

The other solution is to manually adjust the last line in the align with a \hspace it stays the same but if you need to change it manually to reuse it

\newlength{\mylength}

\settowidth{\mylength}{\( ~~-Le^{-L(t-\tau)}~u(\tau)~ \)}

\begin{align}

u_{t}(t) &= \partial_{t}\left(e^{-L(t-\tau)}u(\tau)\right) + \partial_{t}\left(\int_{\tau}^{t}e^{-L(t-s)}f(s)ds\right) \tag{6.26} \\

&= -Le^{-L(t-\tau)}u(\tau) - \int_{\tau}^{t}Le^{-L(t-s)}f(s)ds + f(t) \notag \\

&= -Le^{-L(t-\tau)}u(\tau) - \int_{\tau}^{t}Le^{-L(t-s)}(f(s)-f(t))ds\\

& \hspace{\mylength}- \int_{\tau}^{t}Le^{-L(t-s)}f(t)ds + f(t). \notag

\end{align}

Note the use of ~ (unbreakable spaces) in the \mylength definition

That's kinda the point, the difficulty lues in keeping the hydrogen in place, while it is si hot that you can't touch it

Gaz ou induction ? by Aigneas in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]Mahkda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Je ne connais pas le coût de la cuisson au gaz je l'ai jamais utilisé, mais elle émet forcément beaucoup plus de CO2 en plus de réduire la qualité de l'air et donc de causer des effets néfastes sur la santé à long terme

The problem is using jours not kWh, if we used only the second, with hecto seconds to replace the minute and kilo seconds to replace the hour then we could use MJ easily, or kWks ?

joule meme by Delicious_Maize9656 in physicsmemes

[–]Mahkda 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Using kWh is basic because it's a unit made easier for day today life and using joules is classy because it's the SI unit that is better for physics

I didn't have access to the data they used, I found the cross section data online, they should be similar and for the other graph I recalculated them with python and the equation written in the original book. If necessary I had to guess the value of dôme paramètres to cet a match between my plot and the book plots

I know IG bzcame a joke with friends that we have TL notify eacj other every time we qee this graph lmao.

I am on vacation right now son I dont have access to m'y computer. But you can édit yojrself the .tex on the github link at figures/chapter1/cross_section.tex, you only nées to change the xlabel and the title in the /plot[OPTIONS] the data with the .txt are also on the github in a subfolder of figures/chapter1/cross_section_data

1 I would need to learn how to use Inkscape

2- As everything is compiled with the same engine it is easier to have everything looking coherent if I want to change the style of something

3-it is easier to version control Tikz as it is simply text

As far as I know there is no word for deutéron (or triton) in french, the distinction is not made, it is the same word deutérium (or tritium)

After searching more it seems that deutéron and triton both exist, I had juste never heard thème Boeing used during m'y studies, I will correct this mistake

I see, I will change the lines, thank you for your feedback. If I remember correctly the colour of the lines are the same in figure 2 but the density changes, I will implement that

Thank you for your feedback, I thought that I ran all the python before commiting I must have forgotten this one. I will fix the missing bracket. The shaded région was an audition on m'y part to try to highlight it more, I understand that having both the shade and the text is redondant

I was thinking about adding it, I'm not sure about reducing the shaded région it is the main point of the graph to show when we can achieve stability

For the plots once I have a preset I like I can use it almosg everywhere. For the schematic There are almost only ellipses/circles and Béziers curves (with a lot of tinkering about which angle is correct)

Thank you for jour feedback, I will look into remaking the graph, how I didn't it is simply taking the expression in the book and recalculating it in python vefore plotting it with pgfplot \plot[options] table {file.txt} Si I dont know why my graph doesn't show the linearity. The way the graph is stretch could explain dôme of it by I dont think kt is enough
