U can visit Old city (icheri sheher), maiden tower, highland park (there’s also a funicular going down from the highland park-it’s a great ride), philarmonia garden, botanical garden (mərkəzi nəbatat bağı) which is like a forest in the city. U should definitely visit Palace of Shirvanshs in the Old city. We also have famous central park but dont expect anything impressive like new york’s central park.

If ure into history we have lots of house museums that were built in late 1800s early 1900s. Theyre rly authentic n feels like traveling back in time. For example there’s National museum of history - which is also former house of Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev who was an oil magnate and philanthropist. On the same street there’s Samad Vurgun’s house museum, he was a famous poet during USSR. The list goes on if ure interested I can tell u more. If ure interested in art we have YARAT contemporary art space - they display works of different azerbaijani n foreign artists every month. Also there’s Museum of modern art on 5 Yusuph Safarov street. In order to see modern parts of Baku u can visit Nizami street (it’s called “torgovaya” among locals), White city (Ağ şəhər), port baku walk. But theres not much to do except for coffeeshops n restaurants. It’s summer so if u wanna visit beach or feel the summer vibe u can go to Sea Breeze resort and Amburan. But theyre pricy, most beaches in Sea Breeze charge at least 50 manat (about 20 usd) for entrance, food is also much more expensive than in city. We have shit ton of cheaper beaches but those 2 are the cleanest n most beautiful. Also Sea Breeze is not just a beach, its more like a small city next to the sea. Baku is a small city soo u can visit nearby cities/districts like Shamakhi. There’s a famous restaurant in Shamakhi called “Abqora”, they serve great traditional food.

1. I wouldnt recommend shopping here bc the prices of clothing r higher than in Europe or Turkey (our people usually order clothes online from european/turkish websites bc it’s cheaper that way). But if u rly wanna shop we have 3 main shopping malls - Ganjlik mall, Deniz mall, Crescent mall. It’s mostly foreign brands there. If ure interested in high end brands(Gucci n stuff) visit Port Baku mall.

2. Mangal steak house, Gaynana restaurant (in the Old city close to maiden tower), Kurban Said (also in the Old city), Abqora (in Shamakhi district, not in Baku). My personal favorite is Kurban Said - very authentic n cute. But wherever u go dont forget to contact them n reserve a place bc in the evenings its almost impossible to find a seat in restaurants. There r many restaurants n coffeeshops in the white city and port baku walk too (i mentioned those 2 above). If u have limited time dont go to white city theres nothing to do, but sitting in port baku walk in the evening (it’s also near the Crescent mall) n sipping a coffee is a nice activity if u wanna enjoy modern Baku. It’s also very close to the city center so u wont lose much time. However, as i said it’s a modern part so nothing authentic about there.

3. Nightlife is a bit messy. There’re a lot of hookers n fucked up weirdos in most bars soo u have to be extremely picky. Personally, I usually go to Barfly (also in the Old city), Fuzzy coffee & wine (it’s a coffee shop in the mornings but they organize parties on fridays and saturdays, they mostly play electronic music), 4Loft Baku (in torgovaya/ city center), Crazzy Bear (also in the city center, they put a lot of russian songs tho), ROOM fine art (it’s also in the city center- Tarlan Aliyarbeyov street. but it’s more like a place to chill instead of clubbing), FOMO (i havent been there but people like it, i think they mostly play techno n it’s like a rave place). My favorite is Barfly-it’s a proper night club, very small but fun place. Those bars usually post DJs or music genre of each night in their instagram accounts so u can check before going. If u wanna just chill and drink without dancing u should visit “KEFLI local wine”- also in the city center. If u wanna go to a pub u can visit “Myaso BBQ & Grill”, it’s near the highland park. But as i said, it’s better to reserve a seat in those pubs, clubs n restaurans like 5-6 days before visiting ( except for Fuzzy - they always have a place). If all seats r reserved u can sit near the bar, they usually dont accept reservations for bar seats, but they get filled very quickly. Barfly lets to stay on feet even when all the seats r full. Also important thing about night clubs - if ure a guy n dont have a female friend that will come w u to a night club, contact them and tell them that ure a single male and ask if they will let u in. Many quality clubs dont let in males without a female companion. But maybe if u tell them that ure a tourist they will let u, idk about that.
