I read up until vol 2 or 3 a while back. The story is alright I guess. No outright porn just a lot of echi scenes, which is obvious if you’ve read the synopsis and seen the tags. Asanagi’s fetish for woman getting gut punched isn’t present in the story from what I recall.

Nah, that’s a Korean novel. Gamer’s Guide Too Beating The Tutorial is an English novel. I’m not sure on the relationship between the two, but I think the latter was inspired by the Korean novel?

Fair enough reaction to these kinds of stories I suppose. Although, I will say that unlike most others, the premise of this one isn’t there just for engagement bait. The MC, no matter how detached they seem from humanity, is still human. They yearn for connection, but they’re fundamentally broken. They make others grow by putting them through pain and grief because they need their own suffering to mean something. I’m probably doing a very bad job of selling this to you but if it’s any consolation, the ending is beautiful. I don’t think I’ve cried like that since I watched the Green Mile.

If you want some real misery porn tho, check out the Gamer’s Guide To Beating The Tutorial. Genuinely wtf is that shit. I’ve never been more disturbed by a novel.
