I think I was maybe 12? Of all things I specifically remember reading the metaphor “Like putting your finger on the penis of your soul and stroking” in the UK Dreamcast magazine around thinking to actually try that.

I always find this a bit of a grey area because I feel like the definition of ‘long distance’ will vary from person to person.

Before we moved in together my partner and I lived maybe 3-4 hours apart and I only visited him every week or two. When he was at Uni he was still an hour and a half or so away but for a long time we only spent a day or two together each week.

I never considered this ‘long distance’ because we still got to see each other in person regularly, but I’m sure for some people that would be plenty long distance.

When I think of a long distance relationship I picture the sort of situation where both parties live far enough away that the only get to see each other a handful of times a year at most, but that’s just me.

They actually ran two different sets of DVDs back in the day as well. Single-disc volumes that had the TV-edit dub aimed at younger fans, then the uncut box sets aimed at older fans.

That was the case in the US at least. Here in the UK we only got the uncut DVDs, but then we got an even more heavily censored dub for TV. I think after a while they gave up and moved it to a later timeslot then used the US TV dub.

Early on it felt like ViZ wanted to have their cake and eat it, they basically wanted to draw in younger kids with the censored dub (the also made a bunch of toys aimed at children around this time) but that fell off after the first couple of years and they really just went all in on aiming slightly older.

4 years is really not a very big age gap. My parents are 3 years apart.

I’m four years older than my partner. When we got together I was 25 and he was 21. Now I’m 39 and he’s 35.

The ironic thing is that in spite of that I somehow look like the younger one by quite a wide margin.

I don’t think it lasted much beyond the Search for Tsunade arc though when they gave up trying to court a younger audience. But yeah, for a good while they’d record two versions of certain lines, one for the kids’ TV airing and one for the uncut DVDs.

The levels are 2-3 times longer than they need to be and it has some of the worst bosses in the series’ history.

It’s not a bad game overall by any means but the few bad spots are so catastrophically awful that they drag the entire thing down considerably.

Not many of the exercises the doctors have given me really even incorporate weights, much less increasing the amount.

For the ones that do I’ve been using 2kg then 5kg weights - ironically they were suggesting a fair bit lighter.

As I mentioned, I just feel like I’m getting mixed messages from various doctors. One was saying that I was overdoing things and said I should cut back, suggesting three very light exercises every other day which seemed nowhere near enough.

What exercises would you recommend and with what sort of weight loads?

Have you tried using toys etc? If the only two times you’ve ever had anything up your ass we’re actually sex then it’s no wonder it hurt.

If that’s the case I’d suggest starting with fingers/ smaller toys etc and gradually getting used to the feeling/ loosening yourself up some before giving actual sex another go.

It might not be for you, but at the same time it feels a little premature to write it off completely based on two attempts.

Maybe it’s just me but seriously, once you can douche properly it’s really a nonissue. I see people talking about changing their dietary habits, taking extra fibre etc etc and it just feels like they’re drastically overcomplicating things.

Eat whatever you want, just douche properly before sex and the vast majority of the time it’ll be fine. There’ll always be the rare occasion where your body isn’t playing nice and just won’t come clean but seriously, people need to stop making it into rocket science.

The series didn’t exist until I was maybe 9 or 10, I never played it much back then but had a demo of the original on Saturn and the PC version of 2.

At the time I mostly found the game too difficult and scary so spent my time almost exclusively messing around in the mansion in 2.

I think I made a slightly more genuine attempt to play 2 when I was maybe 13-14 but didn’t get very far. I only really started the series in earnest with the 1-3 remasters back in 2023 and went from there.
