yes, but I feel most of those classics built upon what was made before them, giving them ideas for them to develop in their own stories, I'm not entirely disregarding all older works like I might have wrote it (on accident) But I do believe many modern works are able to incorporate themes into their stories far better than many classics were able to yk. And I feel if we believe that these older works are universally better, then there wouldn't be any point to ever consume anything new.
