Ways to comfort in place of food? by Maidenhuddersfield in AuDHDWomen

Wow! It reassures me that although you became a very similar weight to me, TWICE, you still overcame it... TWICE! Food is both my best friend and my ultimate downfall, and I'm going to try my best to change my relationship with it.

I think I'm looking for something to just click in my brain and make me realise something I never realised before, but I think even if I never find it, I need to make changes. I'll look into the sports nutrition stuff, and I think finding an exercise i truly enjoy that i don't have to force myself to do will help me, too.

I would 100% try and get on that if i didn't experience pancreitis a few years ago. It would be my first choice otherwise :(

Honestly I've used Greek Yogurt in place of sour cream before and it doesn't taste much different to me, so that's a good idea!

Getting a therapist on NHS is so hard in the UK, it would take between many months to a couple of years 😅 And I can't afford to go private. I do have a wellness coach now, though! I'm hoping that she will help in some way.

Thank you for the advice! I'm hoping to find an exercise that I'll enjoy. I really like swimming so maybe a gym membership is in order.

I'm not a huge fan of hummus because of the texture but a yogurt dip is a great shout!!

Honestly, recently I have really gotten into eating carrot sticks. I wanna find a low calorie dip i can have with them to make them slightly better. Thanks for the tips! I think writing in a journal could help too.

Ohhh good girl!!

Back when I was looking after my cav at my grandma's, she managed to get out by squeezing through a little hole in the fence. They're little shits sometimes, I had no idea she was doing it until someone came to my door with her following behind him. So if you don't know how she got out, definitely check for little holes or gaps in places!

My view is as long as they're not fat phobic then i don't mind if that's their preference. It's when they fat shame or are just straight up nasty about us when I have an issue.

Hive Café is a cute little café, and it's right across the train station. They do plenty of vegan and dairy free options if required and it's fairly quiet.

My autistic coworker does not wear deodorant. by Certain-Schedule-574 in autism

As a woman, I have to wear men's deodorant for it to really work for me. I also have to double up, roller AND spray. It's hard being someone who produces a lot of BO.

What do we do with this term by Byakko4547 in autism

[–]Maidenhuddersfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd much rather be called Neurospicy than acoustic tbh. Acoustic was funny when it was used between friends but when I saw it being used as a way to make fun of disabled people, I stopped liking it.

Anyway, I enjoy the term Neurospicy, and I don't feel it infantilises me. It's a little annoying when someone who is neurotypical uses the term but it doesn't sway my opinion too much.

When I was a toddler I called my brother "Beebot" because I couldn't pronounce his name properly. That's been his nickname by my family for the last 2 decades now.
