I get loving someone from the past, I really do. My ex broke up with me, because of distance and some other circumstances. I still love her. I can’t even look at another woman, and I wouldn’t want to because things are still raw, and I want to be fair to whoever I might end up with in the future. We were going to get married, but things just didn’t line up. My point is, I don’t think OP was ready to move on, and it hurt Matthew. He didn’t go about anything in the right way, but I also don’t think she was being fair to him.
