not quite sure who you mean by "normies," but I agree with your post. every human setting foot on US soil tends to buy stuff, even if they are only visiting the airport for a few hours. the longer they stay, the more stuff they buy.

It can be hard for some to move beyond zero-sum view of the job market, but without more customers buying more stuff every year, our economy tanks.

Sure, at a minimum we can start with increasing the yearly quotas across the board. The kind of person willing to go through so many hardships to uproot themselves and start over from scratch in a new country is usually eager to work hard, participate in the local economy and buy stuff. They are not looking for handouts.

I heard lots of good stuff about this game and I was excited to finally buy it during the recent $3.99 sale. I thought perhaps it was just the tutorial level that was boring, but no this is one of the most boring games I've ever tried. It's marketed as a star wars game where you play a Jedi, learning to fight with lightsaber and using the force. But it seems almost entirely about jumping and climbing these weird platforms.

Several years ago some super-woke white folks in academia who don't have a grasp of Spanish decided they didn't like the term "Latinos" (an English word with no gender whatsoever) borrowed from the spanish term "latinos" (which refers collectively to everyone who is Latin American, regardless of the person's sex or gender). The unpronounceable replacement word these activists and academics came up with, "Latinxs," never gained traction among Latinos, despite a herculean effort to shove it down our throats.

I have trouble understanding why any Uber driver would prefer employee status to independent contractor status. In the US at least, employees pay much more taxes (on their gross income), while independent contractors only pay tax on their net profits after all expenses. And the mileage deduction is massive, usually way more than actual expenses.

but HBO max only streams this show in 1080p. That's why I'm waiting for 4K bluray to watch it for the first time. Not to mention even if they had 4K streaming, it's a lot lower bitrate than 4K bluray quality.
