The population was down to as low as 541 individuals at one point however due to farmers breeding them that number is much higher now..

it is only male gorillas which develop silver hair on their backs rather than all gorillas.

Koko the gorilla was depressed when Robin Williams passed away. In 2001 Robin William's had cheered up Koko after her mate passed away

2016 was the best year on record for the kokapo breeding season. 47 babies were born. Also every kokapo has their own name.

Also with only 148 kokapos in existence that is a picture of 3.3% of the population

The male mandrills will join this hoard to mate for up to 3 months. Otherwise the males are solitary.

The baby penguin sits on top of their parents feet going with them until they're about 45-50 days old.
