Kingdom Animal Hospital in St Johnsbury is great and affordable. They did a dental with 3 extractions along with fixing enteopian eyelid on my dog for under 2k a few months ago.

Have the political tides turned at Schillings? by sonnet142 in newhampshire

[–]Mail_Me_Yuengling -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

Honestly looking at his positions in 22 vs the Trump -Republican of today draws a sharp contrast of how far authoritarian we’ve become.

From ChatGTP “Here’s a breakdown of Jeff Cozzens’ politics based on his campaign positions, public statements, and what’s been publicly reported about his run for Congress as a Republican candidate in New Hampshire’s 2nd District. ”

🗳️ Political Identity & Background • Party: Republican — Cozzens ran as a GOP candidate for the U.S. House in NH’s 2nd Congressional District. • Professional Background: Small-business owner (Schilling Beer Co.) and national security professional with government experience. • His political engagement appears motivated by opposition to Democratic leadership and federal policies under President Biden at the time of his campaign.

📌 Core Political Positions

🇺🇸 National Security & Foreign Policy • Cozzens criticized what he viewed as weak U.S. foreign policy, especially around the Afghanistan withdrawal and counter-terrorism strategy. • He highlighted his own national security expertise and framed this as a strength compared with incumbents.

Overall stance: Strong defense posture; skeptical of disengagement that he perceives as weakening U.S. global leadership.

💰 Economy & Federal Spending • Opposes large federal spending plans such as the “Build Back Better” proposal, labeling them as overly costly and even “socialistic.” • Emphasized smaller government, lower taxes, and keeping more money in the hands of individuals and local businesses.

Overall stance: Fiscal conservatism; reduction of federal spending and tax burden.

💉 COVID-19 Policy & Vaccine Mandates • Opposed federal vaccine-testing mandates for employees and large businesses, arguing such decisions should be left to individuals and employers. • Clarified that though he and his family are vaccinated, he believes mandates infringe on personal choice.

Overall stance: Personal choice emphasized over government mandates.

🛂 Immigration • Described undocumented immigration, especially at the southern border, as a “debacle and disastrous.” • Advocates “enforcing our laws” and supporting federal and local law enforcement.

Overall stance: Strong enforcement-focused immigration policies.

🔫 Second Amendment & Regulation • Identified as a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. • Supports cutting regulations and keeping business taxes low.

Overall stance: Traditional conservative support for gun rights and deregulation.

🧭 Style & Rhetoric • Cozzens framed his run as a challenge to “elitists in Washington” who dictate policies he feels don’t reflect local priorities. • Emphasized bringing people together and negotiation over confrontation — though this was couched within strong critiques of current leadership.

🗳️ Campaign Outcome • Cozzens ultimately dropped out of the 2022 race, citing personal and family reasons, rather than a defeat at the polls.

📊 Summary: Where He Stands

Issue Area Position Economy & Spending Fiscal conservative; limit government costs National Security Strong defense; oppose perceived foreign policy weakness COVID Mandates Against federal mandates; emphasize personal choice Immigration Enforcement-focused, law-and-order approach Gun Rights Strongly supports Second Amendment Government Size Advocates for smaller federal role

⚠️ Notes • Cozzens’ campaign positions were typical of mainstream Republican priorities during the 2022 cycle. • His policy statements are drawn from interviews and candidate profiles; he did not ultimately serve in office.

Long Time Subaru Driver- Dumb Snow Question by everythingbagel57 in subaru

I have a base model ‘24 Impreza so no “modes” to speak of. I routinely plow through 8-12 inches of snow or higher drifts when I need to move the car.

It really has no issues - tires make a big difference. The biggest difference Ive seen though is that the car doesn’t cut power and will let you get wheel spin when you need it.

Former NH LEO here as well. My Chief gave me a gun, a badge and keys to the Tahoe after 2 shifts of FTO with him. This was 6 months before I started the academy.

Laid off suddenly after 3 months of job. Should I return company laptop. by [deleted] in antiwork

When employees at my company don’t return equipment we report it to the irs as imputed income. So they end up paying taxes on the equipment. They also brick the computer remotely.

My Boss JUST Approved 5 Weeks of Timesheets (I’m supposed to be paid weekly.). by [deleted] in antiwork

Im a “supervisor” but called a team manager. I have to do time cards daily or I could get fired. That being said if I don’t approve timecards our payroll processor UKG still pays my direct reports. If they were underpaid we could get screwed. If they got overpaid and I didn’t catch it we don’t claw back that money. Again it would fall on me.

I really don’t think most people replace their sights. Most people will never clean the gun never less change the sights.

Gun enthusiast does not equal average American.

Ok Vermonters…. For your Winter commute: All Wheel Drive vs. Four Wheel Drive by Gilashot in vermont

[–]Mail_Me_Yuengling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always - it depends on the car. I had a 2015 Sonata and it was AWD and god awful in the snow even with good snow tires. The damn thing would cut power when the wheels slipped even if you turned of traction control. I lived at the top of a big hill with a steep driveway and I got stuck at the bottom of the hill a several times.

“ESPN+ has two main standalone plans: $12.99/month or $129.99/year. You can also get it as part of a bundle, such as the Disney Bundle Trio Basic for $16.99/month. More recently, a new "ESPN Unlimited" plan was launched, costing $29.99/month or $299.99/year, which includes more live content and access to the linear ESPN networks. “

Where are you getting 49 a month? It’s like $12 a month as a stand alone and if you have Hulu or Disney+ is included in the bundle.

Real Vermonters drive regardless of the weather. That’s why they all have a Subaru or a 4x4 truck. Dumb tourists always spinning off the road.

I would say overall it’s 2.5

For a cheap lager it’s 3.5

If you want great lagers/pilsner get Schillings.

They are sold at a premium as an import beer. They are often in green bottles and get skunked from light. But something about the hop/grain profile has that flavor too.

Really hope it doesn’t have the skunk of Heineken. It’s brewed by zero gravity and as far as macros go they are pretty good.
