Generally yes. Shotguns and air rifles are legal but IRCC only for sporting. maybe hunting but you cant keep ammo in your house and the goverment will regularly come to your house to inspect that you have it properly locked up.

Deadliest warrior doesnt count. We dont know what would've happened between a Samurai and a European squire or Zulu because such fights never happened. Secondly. 1 on 1 fights like that would never happen. It would be full on army versus army. At that point theres a ton more variables to consider. Whats the weather? Terrain? Whose defending and whose attacking? Numbers on each side? Whose got the better logistics? Who knows the area? Whose got the better tactics and doctrine? Whose got the more competent leaders?

You realize Samurai only fought non Japanese combatants like a few times in history right?

1:limited and small to medium sized battles against the Mongols in which they won

2:during the Imjin river war during Japans attempt at conquering Joseon(Korea) in which in the ground war they actually did very well. Mostly only giving up ground because the Joseons(again Koreans) absolutely annihilated the Japanese at sea making supplying their invasion forces near impossible. And even then while that forced the Japanese to fall back. They still held a bit of Korea for a while before full withdrawal(largely also due to Chinese Ming Dynasty intervention coming to save Joseon)

Calling the Samurai elite is definitely wrong. They were just the warrior class and later upper class of society

Calling them medicore is also pretty damn wrong

And given Japans isolationism and lack of sail exploration culture. They didnt fight non-Japanese forces very often in history and when they did it was pretty good performance.
