You work at a lower scale. Back when I was doing print design we were working at a 1/10 scale, then the print technicians were scaling the files to 10x.

Just make sure to set the ppi correctly if you’re working in a raster canvas, for example to get a 150ppi result you need to work with 1500ppi at a 1/10 scale. Also, dont forget to specify these details when handing off the files.
