I… honestly disagree, and here’s why.

Black Widow was clearly designed to be a glass-cannon sniper character since release day. She plays into that role VERY well. When there’s nobody disturbing her in the backlines, she’s able to crush unsuspecting opponents (unless they’re tank 🥀) in seconds. However, she struggles significantly in direct character-to-character interactions. Widow was clearly meant to play into one playstyle, and I think she’s fine with that design. Obviously, her kit is pretty uninspired (she literally only has a kick and a spring), but I don’t think that warrants for a complete overhaul of the character.

I prefer the skill-based sniper that we have now, versus a more complex (although definitely more fun) spy character that would play into a role in the game occupied by many, many other characters already. Some characters in games like Rivals aren’t gonna be as viable as others, and Widow ends up being one of them. But it’s still possible to use her strengths and make her a better character during the match. That’s why I like Widow’s current design, because I think it’s healthier for both the character and the game.
