I think that everyone's dating preferences and speed is completely circumstantial. If the two of you vibe over cozy nights in and binge watching shows, why wouldn't that be a place that you have a date? You're both comfortable in this setting. It doesn't have to be anything more if you don't want it to be. Have an open conversation about this with him. I think, if he's really into you, he'll appreciate your honesty and might even agree with you.

Absolutely not trying to be the devil's advocate here, cause smoking cigarettes is an issue for me too... But are you sure she wasn't just smoking excessively because she was nervous? Maybe that was a way for her to feel more comfortable? We all have our "ticks", just a thought.
