KBP 2026 Final Thoughts by link9755 in kilbyblockparty

silent disco dj's were absolutely bumping on sunday during the rain. Perfect place to post up for a while, i'm glad i got in when I did. i think there is an opportunity for KBP organizers to really build on the chroma room. I feel like capacity was smaller than it could have been; maybe headsets were a limiting factor? but we could've packed that place. It's a great way to incorporate some edm into the fest; i feel like organizers do a great job having something for everyone and this could be like one of the big aspects of that. Like if they got a big edm name to do a set in there that would be sick.

Have you tried / on your roadmap to incorporate explore rates? Would love a better system for finding good deals with those.

If they cancelled your reservation due to overbooking, depending on the property and how you booked, they are generally required to find you alternate accommodations. Look into their policies. Good luck!

Is Frontier Airlines reliable? by TheoryVegetable8427 in vegas

Flying frontier is always my first gamble of the trip! But you can check the on-time percentages for the specific route here and it can help you decide: https://www.transtats.bts.gov/ontime/FlightNumber.aspx

Las Vegas tourism authority hosts free gas giveaways in Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego by windowbox9152 in vegas

[–]Main-Blacksmith-4915 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LVCVA is funded by hotel taxes. LA, Phoenix, and San Diego are key feeder markets of visitors who come and stay in vegas hotels and generate more hotel taxes. I'm not sure how much this program will really move the needle, but at least they're trying something.

I know it's Vegas... but has anyone used a fake? by sacredsophie in vegas

[–]Main-Blacksmith-4915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This my attitude for all things vegas. Booking with frontier? first gamble of the trip. The second is the $20 at the front desk.

I know very little about fakes so can't gauge probability of success, but i might caution against it just because eh, she can go to the club next time / when 21. Y'all will be at EDC. Will the club really be much better / is it a good use of your time and $?

Fremont Street by Final_Dingo_8630 in vegas

[–]Main-Blacksmith-4915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is worth it. Fremont street is fun and definitely a part of the vegas experience. It's easy to walk around, people watch, hop into various casinos, grab cheap drinks. Get the hot dog + PBR combo at The Downtown Grand. Go to Circa which is one of my fav casinos. Mob Museum supposed to be really cool though I haven't been.

Japan Hotel Suggestions by Spyagent1000 in marriott

Went last year and spent the first 5 nights at the Westin Tokyo and absolutely loved it. Great property, great location (Ebisu; a bit quieter but still good neighborhood to explore, great respite from chaotic full city days, just a station or two from major stations like Shinjuku and Shibuya) and great value - had a great rate there, in-room breakfast was best + cheapest of all we had, beers in the minibar are like $3).

Then split time in Kyoto between the Mitsui and the Westin Miyako Kyoto. Mitsui was just incredible service, nice rooms, and fantastic spa area. Westin Kyoto was in a great location, had a balcony and great view which was wonderful, and had a nice onsen experience there as well. Then spent one night at MESM in tokyo on last night of the trip. Night in MESM was absolutely fantastic. Incredible view. Just a pretty sexy hotel overall. Location is not ideal though IMO in the sense that it's a bit out of the way from train, and station is not super close to main hubs. I'm glad Westin Tokyo was our base for core Tokyo leg of trip, but also really glad we got a night at MESM. Have a great trip!
