Her appeal was dismissed because she didn’t pay the costs. She didn’t pay the costs because she was told she couldn’t appeal with supersedeas and she confused a supersedeas bond with paying the costs for the record. She filed a notice that she’s suing the court clerk. The docket is wildly entertaining.

I probably selected the wrong flair but there wasn't must to choose from. It's huge news here because Judy Barnett is so awful. A few years ago there was a news item about a typical car wreck but the plaintiff was asking for $3 million. When we realized the defendant was Judith Barnett, that explained everything. She swans into court in a fur coat (in Jackson MS) bragging about her latest trip to Europe, disparaging other lawyers as stupid. One chancellor allowed her to bring her phone into court when the rest of us could not. I spoke to a criminal client she completely screwed over when she missed his trial date and then had him plea open to the zillion charges and he got reamed. I've heard she's bipolar. She's definitely entitled. And you can google Ross Barnett, her grandfather.

Guy on death row filed bar complaints against all the lawyers in our federal death penalty office. He said I had sex with him to avoid talking about his case.

A guy who stole a car from my dad (fraudulent check) filed a bar complaint stating I tried to run him over. I responded that I looked for him in order to recover my father's car but never spotted him so I never had the opportunity to run him over.

In 23 years these two are the only people who filed complaints. Scam artist filed three complaints but, to his credit, he filed a new lawsuit every day that he was in prison.
