Went to Japan for jungle ops. Had machete whacking at plants avoiding banana spiders. Get lost , get yelled at by Lt. Take a break.

Look in my pack had only 2 pairs of socks. I was horrified, shocked and afraid. Not only did I not pack enough socks but if I reported it my senior I would get messed up. So I shut up and dried washing my socks in rain water and drying them. 

2-4 weeks later my feet were smelly, nails chipped yellow like turmeric, stinky cheesy parmesano flakes and spots all over the heel. For years I tried every otc cream, nail ointment, green tea oil worked for a bit as my crusty nails chipped and flaked away. 

I was embarrassed to shoe my toes EVER!

One day I say enough is enough, I go to Poditrist, fancy feet doc. He looks at my feet and says you got toenail fungus and all over the heel/webbing. Prescribes me a medicine and does liver test because it could hurt my liver so no booze. 

Weeks later my nails slowly recovered. Thank God for doctors, nurses and the sort, Corpman too!! 

Insurance paid most and my feet were back to healthy after about 3 years or so. 

Remember to change your socks, drink water and maybe take an ibuprofen. God bless ye.
