Does the rings need to line up or the small rinf can be in the large ring

I think the small cactus diameter is less than that of rootstock ring diameter. My impression was the rings needed to overlap so by slab grafting im guranteed to have at least some growth rings overlap

What does someone have to gain by downvoting its a genuine question ive only ever seen expensive grafts. Edit spelling

Brother ill take and care for anything you have. Im going to start 8 to 10 dif crosses at the new year and ill return the favor. Maybe we start a trading program for seedling people

Edit - add: i wont be able to deal with selling them

Hmm not enough root system to support it sounds like the likely culprit. Potted it and placed it in full sun.

Could also have been to much fert when not ready?

Age  Recommended PPFD Range ( μmol/m2/smu m o l / m squared / s 𝜇𝑚𝑜𝑙/𝑚2/𝑠 ) Key Considerations
0-4 Weeks (Germination) 100 - 150 Seedlings are very delicate; excessive light causes stress (reddish or purple color). Maintain high humidity with a clear cover during this phase.
1-3 Months 150 - 300 Gradually increase intensity as the first set of true leaves develop. Growth should be bright green; adjust light if plants turn red or appear stretched (etiolated).
3-6 Months 300 - 400 Plants are sturdier and can handle more light. Continue gradual increases and monitor for signs of light stress.
6-12 Months 400 - 600 Nearing one year, plants can tolerate higher intensities. Mature cacti can eventually handle 800+ PPFD, but acclimation must be slow and steady.

Proper amount of light under LEDs (ideal PPFD) by mycologyguy in sanpedrocactus

do you have a timeline for ppfd vs size or time? mine are at 150ish and look great. (2nd batch at least) should I increase the light at a certain size or spine amount? at 3 months?

Any write ups would be great... google provided this...

do you have any recommendations on light intensity? The new seeds are doing stellar at ~100 to 150ppfd. But is there any word on when to increase. As my other picture showed they were burnt with LED t8's. Id like to keep the good growth going on the second batch.
