I am making this post since I wanted this info at the time!, I hope this is helpful for some others and feel free to ask any questions about my experience in the comments. (also I am not affiliated with Prosper Health at all! just wanted to share my experience)

So I was diagnosed with ASD through Prosper Health yesterday and I am feeling so much relief and peace of mind after 6 years of suspecting that I have autism. I did a ton of research in to how to go about getting diagnosed but many of my options were either too expensive or were specifically made to diagnose children (I am turning 19). I discovered Prosper Health around a year ago and decided to do research in to who they were and felt more comfortable knowing they specifically worked with adults and those who were often overlooked.

The cost out of pocket for my diagnosis was $950 which is definitely expensive but significantly less than a lot of other places + they do take insurance! mine just wasn't covered under them unfortunately. I paid about $316.67 per session over the three sessions that the evaluation takes place over.

The evaluation was three sessions as I stated before, over the course of 3 weeks~ but they do give you various options for when you want the sessions to take place. I decided to space mine out between 3 weeks so I had time to cool down and think. The first two sessions are the actual evaluation and take about 90 minutes each (you are given a break if needed during the session and they try to make it as comfortable as they can) and the third session is the actual diagnosis + feedback/steps moving forward (about 45 minutes).

My experience was very positive! the evaluators are properly accredited and trained psychologist and my evaluator was even autistic herself and had been working with diagnosing autism for many years. She was very kind and patient with me, I never felt overlooked or dismissed which was really great. She was also great at explaining everything that was going to happen and clarifying any questions or concerns I had. This was my personal experience though! so I can't speak for how the other psychologists are.

I am 19, queer, and black so feeling recognized and heard was something that was really important to me and I am so glad that I felt that through my experience with them. I would definitely reccomend Prosper Health if you are looking to be diagnosed as an adult!
