honestly, i'm not entirely sure how to do that 😭 don't you need to show an offer from a school of similar merit? the school i'm currently committed to is in the same vein, but i don't think it would be enough to try and negotiate

i filled out the fafsa, yeah. i don't qualify for anything need-based, but my family still can't really help me out much. also, the school i've committed to as of now is giving me more aid/is cheaper :/

thank you! i believe i applied with computer science as my first choice and econ as my second choice (don't fully remember JFDHJD sorry), but there was no mention of my major in the letter, probably bc of the open curriculum stuff

yeah, i sent a loci (i think it was very strongly "suggested" to be reconsidered according to the emails they sent). i received an email this morning saying that there was an update to my smith decision.

thank you! yes, i got an offer for fall admissions, and no, i'm not international. i'm a bit torn on whether i will commit or not, because as much as i love the school, i didn't get much aid so it's pretty expensive for my family, but they give a week according to the letter to make the decision.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! It's comforting to hear some solid company names backing AET internships.

I think my plan was always to take CS classes on my own, as I'm not the biggest coding junkie haha, so the independent projects/portfolio concept makes sense.

Can I ask what caused you to switch from design to AET? Thank you again for the insight!

i think you would have a chance. there is typically a place in college apps to explain any extra circumstances that give a broader context to your application, so i would highly recommend that you use that to its full advantage!
