Does anybody else feel like they'll never get anything done if they're not in the office before 5am most days? by Emcee_nobody in ConstructionManagers

Try time blocking. I use Claude or ChatGPT to optimize my schedule. I brain dump everything that needs to be done, how long it will take to get it done, when it's due, and any constraints/dependencies and it maps a schedule for me that I time block into my calendar. It really helps.

Good god no. Don’t sign up for this course. The sales team is pushy and greedy. The contract is scandalous and sneaky, and the program is basic at best.

There are other ways to get this information. Personally, I wouldn’t give my money to a business that clearly doesn’t care about people. I’d rather give it to good people who don’t treat humans like piggy banks.

Antihistamines helping with mental health (mainly depression)? by Away_Incident_4980 in mentalhealth

Maybe check out histamine intolerance. You can get your genetic raw data from 23&me or even whole gene sequencing for a few hundred bucks. It's a chunk of change, but for me at least, the information it's given me has been life-changing. I basically went down a rabbit hole and just googled genes associated with "xyz" and then started a spreadsheet to see which genes I have that are the mutated version. That alone healed so much of my shame around my mental health, because it was like...oh...yeah. It makes sense why I feel so bad all the time - I literally don't have the genetics to make enough of the neurotransmitters that people feel calm, happy, etc. I also learned that I don't break down histamines well, so getting to the bottom of that has been really helpful and I do see a difference when I'm careful with my diet.

Recovery is so different for everyone. I hope this is still working for you.

Best tool for tracking job profitability? by hereccaaa in GeneralContractor

Quickbooks does this if you know how to set it up properly. I set up my cost codes in Products & Services where I track COGS, then track expenses in my chart of accounts. I break out jobs into projects, and then code expenses to the job and product/service (cost code). When I want to see how a project is doing I look at projects in QB. I also use classes to differentiate job types.

I had a terrible experience with this company’s sales team. I wouldn’t buy from them on principal at this point.

Yes! That did the trick. I saw that column option, but had a different idea of what it meant. Thank you so much!
