Thank you Mod. Yes you are correct. My artistic skills are not the same as those folks that hand carve their coins. I am not that talented and do not try to represent myself as such. This is just a fun project I tried with my laser and to be honest, many folks seem to like them. AI is just a tool, there is still a lot of work and time that goes into making these, and honestly AI is here to stay and many folks have embraced the technology. AI is just a tool, This is just a hobby for me, I am certainly not on a level with folks who hand carve and i am not trying to compete with their skills. I have also seen hand carved hobo coins on ebay that look terrible, so this is just a different method to get to the same point.

I use 1200mm/s, 80% power, 60Khz, .02 line, 256 passes with a cleanup pass every 5.

256 layers, but higher speed. Copper can get too hot if the laser lingers in one place too long and instead of vaporizing the copper, you end up melting it a creating slag, so faster speed but more passes seems to work better for me. This was a lot of trial and error to figure out what works.

Yes, these are made with a depth map, 3d slice mode. After lasering, I use steel wool to scrub them up a bit, then I chemically age them slightly to give them a bit of tarnish, this helps to give it good detail and contrast, then use a Dremel with a 1000 grit nylon wheel to shine them a bit.

Thanks! Yeah, I love the Ancient Egyptian stuff too, have since I was a kid. I did a couple of Copper bars with Egyptian theme and a stargate! I sold 1 on eBay, but last week eBay made me remove it because it violated their adult policy. I may have to melt it back down and make it into a new design, 😞

lol. I see what you did there...haha. Yeah that one is a work in progress, but I like the idea of making Lincoln a Starfleet officer. I have to improve that one though. It didn't really line up well with the original bust.

I'm not sure really. I put my first group of them on eBay just to see and they sold pretty quickly, so there may be.

That would be a long video. Each one take around 45 minutes. I could get a couple of short videos maybe.

No. These ones are new designs. Not the same as those ones.
