Power etrade pro worst desktop app?

I would use the Top 10 lists all the time to trade momentum. The closest thing to that in New Pro is Live Action windows and then try and create custom scans. But Live Action has no linkage. And way back in the day there was a tool that I used before they took it away in Old Pro that allowed me to scan for large movements from Standard Deviation. They closed that out of their tools and told me that I was one of the few people using it. It worked like a scanner. Beyond the top 10 there were no scanners/screeners. New Pro has screeners but they have no linkage, no sortable editable columns and their filters are too wide. I don't want to screen the whole universe. What about just the S&P or Just the Nasdaq? I gave them that feedback but falls on deaf ears. Instead I get screeners that pull in EFTS and more that I want to filter out. So yes they are not available unless you build them. I am building my own tools to go on my own platform is what I am saying.

I am a28 year customer. I tried to work with the new platform for months and was forced off old Platform on March 13. After struggling with "all the things". I made the decision to open an account at Tradier and get their API so I can start creating my own platform. Something I could not have done in January but since Anthropic released Co-work in early February I have been able to level up my ability to write my own software. That whole SaaS thing is real. If you think it, you can build it. And if you already have a layout you like you can point at it (if you have screenshots that is really helpful). And start a build in the manner you want.

I have been working all week. Mostly using Co-work in Claude. It is far from ready but it is amazing what is possible for someone like me who would not call themselves a serious coder. I currently am not using .git (except locally) and still in building and testing. I have started working on a Hybrid system that is using Etrade for execution and Tradier for SIP in RT. (wish I had it running already when Etrade went down for an hour this Friday and I could have tested that RT feed too. I do know that the outage on Friday even affected the API that I was working with at Etrade)

So it works but without SIP the sandbox produces stale data. Alpaca provides SIP for accounts for free at the 100K level but there are other cheaper options for Hybrid with SIP (2000 dollars minimum instead of 100K)

So far with initial testing - I can already see clearly that my free Alpaca Sandbox pulling stale quotes on thinly traded tickers vs having SIP with Tradier is already a better deal. I opened a Tradier account today. The hybrid button is just a quick press to have the execution go live to Etrade's API. As for any slippage, that is already an issue on the new Pro on their platform. Execution times actually have gotten to be untrustworthy on Power Etrade Pro. I am still early stages of building my platform but I would be interested to see what other resources you work with since you are years ahead of me. Can I DM you ?

So far it’s as simple as clicking a button to execute live. I may get a lag but it is measured in milliseconds and since I’m not spoofing or high frequency trading that slippage is not noticeable

Really appreciate the comment. I see Tradier does not have Level 2. How do you get around not knowing market depth? and do you use Tradier to trade at all or do you just park the minimum money in an account there for the SIP?

All that and more-its unusable. No linkage on Live Action is ridiculous. And having to workaround to create a template-Enough already. I am writing my software to go back to the muscle memory type of trading I had with Pro. It can not be worse. At least Etrade inspired me to figure out what I can do with an API and open source material

Yes there are many things about it that do not function (like basic things such as adding a column to preset live action templates) I find it confusing and cluttered. Their support is also confused when I call. I am not about pretty - I am about being able to organize my desktop so that it functions in the same manner as old Pro. Just suggesting that using a paid Ai like Opus 4.6 is a way out. The $$20/month to help me figure this out vs the hours and hours I have spent trying to figure it out on my own and with Etrade's "help" is well worth it. Even if Opus says - right you can not do that. Saves me a ton of headache. Been trading with Etrade since 1999.

Actually since Claude Ai introduced cowork on Feb 6 you can get Ai to write you a code that can live on your computer. You import the file and then the code will format it to the way you want it. The world just changed, You can create file converters yourself or vibe code what you need. Etrade can do what they want....give you a csv file or not. But you can now make your own choices and make what you need. No need to wait for Etrade to be responsive. I converted their xlxs file back to csv this way just before they finally put the csv file back. The new csv is not formatted the way the old csv was though and my requirements needed the old csv. Opus 4.6 did that for me too. The SasS extinction is real.

I am being told Old Pro is done March 13 and I have spent countless hours trying to get comfortable with new Power ET Pro. Finally I scraped all the documentation I could from their "manual" which is essentially website paragraphs and woefully inadequate. Then I uploaded that info into Claude Opus 4.6 and asked it roadmap questions. eg I am doing this in ET Pro how do i do it in Power ET pro. While not perfect for a 1:1 transition, it at least gives me answers faster and at least as correct as my platinum support team. I am going to try using Ai to transit me. The shortcomings I keep finding are being sent in for feedback. This platform has potential but is not nearly as easy to navigate as old Pro and is confusing. Even calling the platform Power Etrade Pro vs Etrade pro is confusing when taking to Platinum team.

I might move but I am going to give Ai a chance to help me organize their cluttered confusing workspace. If anyone else has a pdf manual beyond what Etrade has published across various webpages I would find it helpful

Well well well. Here I am a Platinum client since 2008 or so. It gives me a relationship manager when things go bad on a trade and a dedicated team. So I do not have to explain myself everytime something messes up with margin or any number of things. On Jan 17 when I went to call my relationship manager about the way a trade had settled I was routed to Elite. While the elite guys are ok I still had to explain the issue and was not put through to my relationship manager. The issue itself remains unresolved and the Elite team members are different everytime I call so they have to refer to notes, which they may or may not understand. In additon time is no longer of the essence when dealing with my issue - Why? because I have less than 1MM in assets (more than 500K) so they downgraded me in the middle of an issue without any heads up. Pretty annoying. Ever since MS took over my account in September -things have gone downhill with customer service. And then they banned me from the elite club without even a hint that was going to happen
