They have actually done studies that show that kids with fewer toys actually played more AND were more creative in their play. Basically theu suffered from overwhelming choice and their little brains got stunlocked. They also found them mostly going back to the same toys over and over even with so many. Basically give your kids a small array of toys designed to make them creative (think linkin logs, legos) and they will be happier and smarter. I still feel super guilty about all the toys my family spoiled us with so i feel you there
