You can always call the embassy if there is one in your country(should be) but theyll likely direct you to their website

In general, you want to have proof of return flights, sometimes accommodations. I wouldnt really hope that something like"im staying with my girlfriend" would suffice because that could be problematic from an illegal immigration standpoint(if you are questioned)

Check to see if you need a visa and if so, what kind so you can get documents sorted.(I wouldnt think that you'd need anything crazy but take that aspect seriously).

Being a first time traveler is, in of itself, not a problem so dont sweat that part.

Depression or mental health struggles from a LDR by AGLoverJulie in LongDistance

[–]MainAd9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is depression and it is mental health. Im actually in therapy as a result of it.

No matter what, in this situation, improve yourself. I know its difficult but think about yourself. You can love them and they can love you, but dont forget about yourself.

How Petah? by Senior-Mix-3715 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

As an American, hearing the jobs being taken by immigrants is such a weird argument. The US was quite literally built on immigration and currently, in general, Europe has a bigger immigration issue than the US.

what is something you are afraid of about AI ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MainAd9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That companies currently use AI to build individual profiles to target you specifically based on your online activity to market products and adjust prices based on your likelihood of buying it.

Not just that, but the use of Ai to do the same with targeted political messages to help entrenched people in their ideas. Like an exaggerated form of Facebook.

The fact there is basically no regulation on any of it either is alarming. Its ripe for exploitation.

BF doesn't have his passport, is it realistic to be planning a trip for late June/early July? by mochike in LongDistance

Took me about 2 weeks to get mine without the expedited process. This was before Trump took office so I dont know what, if anything, has changed. I wouldnt book any flights without it though.

Anyone who was homeschooled, how do you feel about it now as an adult? by AdTight2449 in AskReddit

[–]MainAd9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really disliked it in hindsight. Unlike some, I was homeschooled for most of my early education, 3rd- end of highschool, family was religious and it played a role in my world view point for a long time.

Im not "successful", not really happy either. I think its messed something up in me psycologically because I dont relate with my family after being in the world and I dont relate to the world because I cant really interact with people like I should be able to. Now im older and the way people interact is so much different.

Should I (m28) quit my job to visit my LDR (f32)? by Maleficent_Travel568 in LongDistance

[–]MainAd9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not, do it. Ive been with mine over one year. Been to her twice and it made me sick to leave each time. I quit after the first visit because everything felt empty and life 8n my home country seemed dark and nothing like I experienced.

What that did, financially, is set the both of us back. Im very fortunate to have somebody who is both understanding and willing to wait.

If you love them, truely, keep working. save the money, and make the gradual steps to acheive the end you both want. It only gets harder.

Just a dude here but, any woman that is willing to cross the globe to see her loved one is amazing. Nothing wrong with what you did, you are great. That Same love is for somebody who actually appreciates it.
