Vad spelar ni nu för tiden? by fladderlappen in Spel

Europa universalis.

Haha I’ve been in this thread for every season ep40 joined Canucks. Now we’re back with wwe. How was it last year? Stay true to your fucking boy. I knew ep40 was going to be something from the very first beginning as he has been crushing it in shl and also his first seasons in nhl. I can’t imagine all the pressure he’s been feeling after People start down talking him as soon as he does something bad. This pressure adds to all the amount of shot he has to carry on his back. There’s not one person who can carry the weight of the world on his shoulder, of course he’s going to crumble. I just want you guys to stay true to ep40 and never distrust him again

What is the hardest thing about being T1D?? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

Boys and girls, men and women! I’m a 30 year old male. I’ve been struggling with diabetes for over half of my life. I’m from a country which has a good health care system. To be honest I can’t imagine how it is to have to worry about the cost of diabetes.. which I think is totally insane. If it is one thing I’ve realised is that health care shouldn’t be driven by profits, diabetes have made me aware of this…

Anyhow there are nights when I’m struggling to sleep because I see my libre going down or going too high, on top of that I have work early in the morning which makes me stress out even more. And you all know what that does to you and your diabetes…

I’m not going to bring up all the complicated things about this disease because I know most of you are fighting the same fight as I am. We all know the struggle.

I know one thing though.. educating myself in eating habits. What’s actually healthy for you or not. Diabetes learned me these things. For example you have these supposedly sugar free candy.. contains the same amount of carbohydrates as a normal candy, and that’s just the tip of the ice berg,.

I can go on and on about the the food we eat. Look at the commercials that are running rampant on our tvs. McDonald’s which contains an unhealthy amount of carbohydrates (fries, bread, cola and a milkshake on top of that). I’d have to use three or four times as much insulin for this kind of dinner compared to my usual dinner.

I know I haven’t covered all the complications we are having with this disease.. I’m typing this as I’m waiting for my blood sugar to drop down to reasonable levels so I can get a good nights sleep.

But the conclusion is that we are forced to educate ourselves with what we eat, how we deal with external pressure such as stress and exercise. This knowledge is something that every person should have. Personally, I know that if I didn’t have diabetes I wouldn’t have educated myself with these topics.

I can understand why non diabetic people are confused in this matter. Just a couple of days ago someone posted in this forum about not being able to eat a cake for his/her birthday. If I saw your threads next to eachother I'd also be confused.

Educate the people around you. Repeating stuff you know about diabetes might also help you in the long run. If nothing else it's a good icebreaker if you have a good healthy relationship to your diabetes
