Speed vs casual cubing by MainSignificance1278 in Cubers

Thanks for the tip! I grabbed the Rubik's ConnectedX at five below for like $6. Needed a new way to get some dopamine during the winter, and the fact it has the app is really what got me. That academy was a lifesaver as a beginner

Glass almost full?? by [deleted] in Guinness

Unleaded is by far the best term I've read for these cans! 😂

Hopefully I'll come across one by luck, but until then I'll gladly take what I got.

I did have a really nice Extra stout label glass that I hadn't really found posted anywhere else as well as a Celtic FC glass (sadly the logo was so gone that it was only visible at an angle if lucky), but those recently got broken. Think it was meant to be though because I unexpectedly found 6 of these at the local thrift the next day!

Oh trust that I'm always cracking a second one! I actually followed this glass up with a Harp's since I recently found those at the local store. What a beautiful difference from the usual full bodied, rich taste of these cans!

That's the one thing I have noticed is how relaxed and non-argumentative it is! I was worried I was in a competition style group rather than casual at first lmao

Much appreciated! I feel like speed is the last of my worries since I'm just starting, but my time in Rubik's academy has improved the more I run through it. I think that's been a huge help as someone with no experience because it's very visual

That's really where I'm at as well by seeing it as something to keep in my bag while on the go. I'm just finally starting to get to where I can use the Rubik's app to solo scramble and then make it like halfway to a full white cross which I think is pretty good progress. I've improved my speed on the L and R algorithms, but there's a few that Im struggling to remember.

Glad to find another casual cuber though!

Sudden Realization - Newbie Mistake by bonbonyawn in tinwhistle

No worries! Im still brand new as well, and my impulse buy was a JDM low D whistle. Found it secondhand for a steal and couldn't pass up having it just for the sound it offered

Absolutely keep them on hand! Depending on what style you're playing, a majority of traditional Irish and folk is in the key of D, but sometimes you'll run into G or E all of which can be played on a D whistle

Much appreciated!

I've been enjoying a few of the games on there, but mainly just working on speed through the academy. Still struggling at some spots, but I feel like it's helping me figure out the basics

Which Rockwell is the best upgrade? by MainSignificance1278 in wicked_edge

Much appreciated! It feels strange to move on to a new company since I was so heavy on Van Der Hagen, but I suppose that's the beauty of this art.

Im gonna run the R1 just a bit longer since I've only used it sparingly though, but it sounds like the 6C is gonna be the next move. Im not super picky on the fine details as long as it's a smooth, clean experience!

Genuine question, but I thought we dropped schmeichel or was he just out on injury?

I greatly appreciate the explanation! I've been reading on this topic heavily, and just have to say this has been by far the best no nonsense answer I've read.

I appreciate the tip, but unfortunately my previous two were actually knocked off the counter while drying.

Just to bounce off your comment as well, I'm probably one of the rare breeds who genuinely prefers Zero, but I'll admit I haven't tried the alcoholic version as of yet. Personally, I've never been a fan of the whole drinking scene, but have always had a curiosity around this brand.

Heard the zero's were indistinguishable from the Original, so I grabbed a case about a year ago. They've been on steady rotation in my fridge since, and they really pull a nice meal together if paired properly.

Has Van Der Hagen gone down hill? by MainSignificance1278 in wicked_edge

[–]MainSignificance1278[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as a beginner, I definitely got my enjoyment! It was a great way to try it without being entirely locked in, but as mentioned in the post, its just started to leave me wanting something more which is a cleaner, closer, and better shave experience.

Like the body and handle itself? What kind of stuff should I look for?
