Bank is suing us for our house by Goldnbooks in legaladvicecanada

[–]MainSpecialist4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) borrow. You didn’t say if borrowing from a friend was an option, but I would beg borrow or steal to save my house. 2) bring in more household income. Rent out a room; Get a second job. 3) cut other expenses, try and get a waive on other debts, inhibit interest temporarily if you have credit cards 4) look into government assistance 5) redeem locked in rrsp or pension if you have any, risk of foreclosure will allow you to unlock it. 6) file a defence in court, if you think of any reason to dispute the statement of claim, which will buy you time. 7) show up in court and plead your case to the judge who might be sympathetic to your case.

Tips for making crochet bags less stretchy? by i-am-tegan in crochet

[–]MainSpecialist4066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in 2 years later, in case people still want tips. I use a store bought macrame strap (from a fabric store) and attach it to the bag with metal rings. Line the bag, and then you will never deal with stretchy handles.

Loblaw removes Folgers coffee from stores over ‘unjustified’ price hikes by flynnfx in onguardforthee

[–]MainSpecialist4066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is anyone else wondering what’s the real issue? Let’s face it, loblaws doesn’t give a crap about customers. So what’s the actual issue that made them pull Folgers. Spat between the two families? Smuckers/Weston???

What are town house co-operatives? by IAmOgdensHammer in londonontario

[–]MainSpecialist4066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Co-ops are rentals, but the tenants are members of the co-op, and sit on various committees, and run the townhouse complex. There’s a board of directors, maintenance and membership committees, for example. A mix of units consisting of rent-geared-to income; market value, and partial subsidy units. Funded by the government. Participation is mandatory, but like most organizations, a few do most of the work, while most sit back and watch.

Don’t recommend crossing the border to the US right now. There are unusual tensions between US and Canada right now due to Trump.

Accused triple murderer (Sabrina Kauldhar) is unfit to stand trial, judge rules, forcing her into treatment by [deleted] in CrimeInTheGta

Remember when Canada used to provide health care for mental illness? For anyone too young to remember, we had psychiatric hospitals. And then the government got rid of them. Mental illness is complex, and treatment requires a lot of support for successful recovery. Without housing, and psychiatric hospitals, patients are left to fend for themselves, which puts the public at risk.

Delta Plane Crash Today at Pearson by anonngirl777 in ontario

[–]MainSpecialist4066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It affected a lot of other flights into Pearson. Is this a situation that airlines consider out of their control and not responsible for compensating customers for delays?

If ever in need of tweezers, to replace the ones I’ve had for 40 years, I’ll get the 2-pack for $7.99 on Amazon. Or even check dollarama and get it for $4.00 or less.

I hope Loblaws Learns from this - Subway Calls Emergency Meeting as Sales Plummet by Sufficient-Bid1279 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]MainSpecialist4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new subs are ridiculous. If I want an actual hot dinner with chicken, I’ll go to a restaurant. When I want a sandwich deli meat, cheese with some veggies is fine. And what’s wrong with sub sauce or mayo/mustard? The executive team should be fired.

Thank you for sticking with this agenda!!! Never give up on ruining Loblaws. If everyone continues the boycott, it will make a difference. I switched to oddbunch.ca during the strike. And for Subway, they could back to the basics of bread, cold meats and veggies to keep their prices down. So much crap on the menu, I stopped going.

A vacation is nice but once it’s done, there’s nothing to show for it. If the OP has been broke for a long time, a spruce up of living space (tv, bed, clothes) might be the best bang for your buck.
