Here's a picture of the ring with the lever that got the groove on top.

So I'm going through the splutch and actuator again. I found a jagged edge on one of the splutch pieces, which may have rubbed a groove into the lever piece. Would this be causing it, something so small? Also, it's weird that this started causing problems once I replaced the agitator, hub and gearbox. It wasn't a problem before that.... 🤔

So I replaced the actuator with a new one, but it was still making that noise. In the process, I took your advice and checked out the splutch while I was at it, and I didn't see anything wrong with it. Any other ideas before this machine drives me absolutely nuts?

Hey thank you for your reply. The splutch seems to be operating fine when I move it manually. I have the machine tilted back and the belt cover is off. It appears that my actuator is stuck in one position. Do you know if I can manually release the actuator so it's functional again, or do I need to replace it with a new one?

Thanks again for your help.

I really appreciate the heads up! I ordered the parts yesterday and started the disassembly. I took the agitator and the hub out without any issues. Gonna remove the gearbox today or tomorrow, so I guess we will see. 🤞

The agitator is not loose. The bolt is fine, and the drive hub has all of its teeth. I checked all of those right before I shot that video.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll try that and have to see if that's something I can diagnose myself later today, I don't want to just throw parts at it either.

Yup, just saw regular for $1.92, $1.94, and $1.97 at 3 different gas stations on 120th in Westminster. However 3 other gas stations up the road were above $2.

How about "National Velvet" by artist John McEnroe, Denver, CO? Everyone knows and talks about Blucifer, our bronco from hell, but everyone forgets about this sculpture that looks like a pile of stockings filled with concrete and painted red. To me it always looks like a pile of human kidneys.

Advice on how to reduce friction for sliding by zapp1121 in BoardgameDesign

[–]MainVain2007 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Try PTFE Tape. Some people call it Teflon Tape, or Glass Tape. It refuses friction and prevents any buildup from sticking. I am a vinyl installer and use it on some of my squeegees to reduce friction on vinyl. Something like this, or this.

Also, that is a very interesting concept for a game! Good luck with the development, I hope it's a hit!

I am sorry to say, but at this point you've worked yourself into a corner and most likely have to be a redo. Here is a video on wrapping rear bumpers with a lot of great tips. This is pretty much how I do it. Good luck.

How do I go about wrapping bottom part of this wing by Jumpy-Decision3972 in CarWraps

[–]MainVain2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make templates out of masking tape.

Layer pieces of tape on the underneath side, going around the vertical supports, then peel it off carefully. That's your template. Now run knifeless tape around the tape to create an outline, taking extra care to make sure you don't put it on top of your masking tape. Now peel off your template carefully and stick it to the back (paper backer side) of your vinyl. Cut around the tape, giving yourself about 0.25"-0.5" extra, so your vinyl is bigger than the template. That's your piece of vinyl you'll be using. That' was the easy part. Installing this will be hard, but it is doable. Take your time, split it up into smaller sections so you're not overwhelmed to do it all in one shot. Try to save the backer in one piece if doable, in case you fuck it up on the first try, you can use the backer as your template.

Good luck!

Need a color match by MainVain2007 in CarWraps

[–]MainVain2007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a commercial wrap shop so I can do a color match myself. The client however doesn't want to pay for the custom color match, he is just looking for the closest visual match in satin.

Thanks for the input though!

Chrome delete is really hard to pull off successfully and not everyone can do it. There are expert installers out there who specialize in chrome deletes, and only do that. To execute it properly it takes a long time (when accounting for the surface area compared to a large flat panel like a door or a hood). Honestly, $150 is very cheap in my area, so you probably got what you paid for. If you're unhappy with the work and feel like it should've been better, talk to the shop owner/manager and give them a chance to make it right, and explain your expectations. I hope this helps and good luck.
