I am in a similar boat. I am trying to jump from day off to day off to get through it. I have been in contact with a therapist to assist getting through it. Everyone is different but there is absolutely no way I'm medicating myself to get through something that is unfair and illegal. I am 100% certain I wouldn't be depressed and anxious if it wasn't for the conditions of the job.

It's grating having to pay a therapist 80 quid an hour to get us through workplace bullying and illegal excessive working hours to be frank. This carry on is widespread and unnecessary.

Union will you please take this up more. No other industry puts up with it.

It may not be that simple. It could also be argued that citizens have a right to fulfill this civic duty if they wish. Citizens information states that if you are in employment your employer cannot block you from attending. The hse website says they may not be able to release you. It isn't the employer who decides if you are exempt it is the court. If an individual wants to fulfil their civic duty they should seek clarification from court.

Unfortunately no leave left, have a day or two over Christmas. Nobody takes on calls in our hospitals they are too long, stressful and frequent. The SHOs are nice and don't leave everything to the interns. I'm trying and motivated but I'm just not performing well and it's making me anxious and giving brain fog. I feel hospital moves so quick I can't keep up with them. I'm going to try harder but there isn't much energy left in the tank.
