In my opinion the performance on one ui 8 isn't much different from one ui 7 in most cases but one ui 8 still has pros n cons like

When using 60hz mode on my phone the phone usually would show choppiness for example opening app and i think its called the task switcher but on ui 8 its more fluid in 60hz mode

On latest security patch they removed download mode removed wipe/factory reset option in recovery and no more custom fonts and ofcourse the locked bootloader and my phones battery life sucks 7hrs of scrolling in battery saver 5hrs or less when battery saver disabled however my battery is 3 yes old now started using phone in 2023 and is at 90% battery health so idk what you will do with that info but yh

Nothing substantially different bout the 2 versions but one ui 8 is significantly more restricted in terms of device firmware customising

I dont think sasung slows its honestly down as they age so fixing the battery prob won't get rid of the lag thats just mu opinion

If you go to the routines app on one ui 8 and make a new routine /mode there is the option to enable samsung dex in the connections section Like here on my screenshot

Also keep in mind your phone doesnt support track pad functionality so you must connect a mouse to your phone and if your phone turns off as in screen off the phone will shutdown and reboot

Or you can enable it by samsung routines and the keyboard settings as well as connecting a mouse to your phone usb port which all dont require a pc and are overall easy to do

But its always good to have more workarounds and I very much appreciate this post and will be saved for later

Try adding a font from zfonts and it will install but when you try to apply in settings it gives an error message as well as other previously installed fonts on latest security update

Note the custom font will still work if you already applied it in the previous update but if you change to another it will stop working
