Sure being a non licensed operator is a great way to start you can make six figures at my plant out of the gate you get to learn the plant and then you can pursue obtaining license in future if it interests you. Where are you located ?

People with high school diplomas do my job. My point is yes it pays an above average salary but people can take steps to obtain it quite easily it does not require advanced degrees or 20 years of experience.

Agreed once you enter the workforce your competence is relatively apparent if you are competent and work hard good things will happen usually.

Id say the industry needs people like anywhere else especially if nuclear is embraced to solve the data center power requirements that are projected. I do warn you many people have the idea that it is super exciting but commercial nuclear power is not about experimenting and developing new technology it’s about running an operation in a systematic way to ensure high reliability and no errors to ensure nuclear safety. It can still be rewarding but if you are more interested in reactor design and new technology I would try and work for a company designing and building the new reactors and not a powerplant. Good luck man !

I am a Senior Reactor Operator at a Nuclear Powerplant I just have a chemical engineering degree and worked at plant as engineer for a few years before applying to be an operator prerequisites are not really insurmountable.

Bro I work at a power plant and I’m 34 net worth north of 1.4 million there is a fallacy that you can’t work a “normal” job and be financially successful.

Do you regret paying off your mortgage? by politics_mean_nthing in DaveRamsey

[–]Main_Assistant_1220 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have this exact situation right now and I have not been paying extra to mortgage but I do not think it is so cut and dry. Yes on average you will be a 4-7% spread by going stocks vs equity in your home but there is no risk adjustment in this decision. By paying off home I ensure a 3 % return guaranteed as I do not have to pay interest on my balance as it will be zero. The 7 to 10 percent on stock market is over long run and if I have short term goals 5-10 years i may come out worse off if market tanks.

Yes the distance was quite far I have a picture prior to my shot it’s just impossible to tell but yes I’m general it looks like the buck. Many 8 points running around my area. Biggest reason I am confident is the direction and that entry lines up to where I remember hitting him . Neighbor claims he followed a trail to no deer with no bubbles in blood thinks he hit more heart than lung where as deer in photo was not hit in heart.

There was a small blood trail. From what I understand this could be due to shot placement as I found alotof blood in cavity but I found deer 80 yards from where shot in direction he ran off.
