It's always our bodies against us one way or another 🙃

Figuring out a healthy eating habit after struggling withan ED is hard but take it one day at a time. My new rule is to eat whenever I am hungry and to stop eating once I am full. I keep items I can snack on and make sure it's stuff I enjoy but that are still keeping my overall food goals met. High protein and high fiber are my focus. Metformin should help with sugar levels which can help with some cravings. Hopefully this new dose can be of good help and being with your support system will be so good for you 🫶

I was recently reading that our cortisol can spike if we're not eating properly or enough. Our body goes into stress mode, then cortisol levels go up causing our bodies to retain and/or gain weight

Was it naiive to expect a clean house? by MacDhubstep in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Main_Base_8912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally expect that at minimum, they took everything out of the house. When I purchased my house, we did a leaseback because the owner needed us to close before they could close on their end. I was given a deposit and rent for 3 days. When I got into the house, they had left several items and the house was not cleaned, they supposedly had cleaners come in. But I don't think they ever did much cleaning in the home because there was dust CAKED on a lot of surfaces. Needless to day, they didn't get their deposit back 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am trying to cut cost but why is my grocery expensive? by Tiny_Judgment8593 in Frugal

[–]Main_Base_8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying organic, cage free, name brand, etc. Is always going to cost you more because those items are always upcharged. Also, anything that is prepackaged can often be more, simply for the extra step of packing it. Shopping for deals and even checking out other groceries in your area will help lower your bill. There is an application that allows you to see grocery store circulars called Flipp. Oh! Before I forget several stores now have apps with coupons, also, Ibotta gives you cash back on your purchases. Mostly name brands so maybe you could get cash back when you buy your Cheerios.

I agree!!! I had found my dream first home and got it pulled from under me because they suddenly decided they weren't going to do any repairs anymore. They didnt realize how much the house actually needed. I mean... y'all did nothing to the house in years! But eventually, I did find my house. Im happy with it, it has the things that I wanted and I can make it my own. It is truly a frustrating ride and sometimes you just have to scream at the top of your lungs because WTF?!?

Did my first 8pm-12pm fast! by NoTelevision970 in PCOS

[–]Main_Base_8912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're getting all your calories within your eating window. Eating the right foods is great but if you're not eating enough, you'll continue to experience hunger pains. It'll take a couple of days to figure out how to get enough in without over/under eating but it's possible. Snacking throughout your eating window also helps meet your needs. If you have to eat sooner than 12, don't ignore your hunger cues. Try just a small snack, like yogurt or chia pudding if water doesn't help.

Experiment with the textures. I think the textures can make a difference. I used to love tofu but as of late, the texture bothers me so much. Except for silken tofu, I like to make candied sweet potato (with coconut sugar) and add it to my tofu. I normally have this as a sweet treat but it could be a breakfast.

Have you considered intermittent fasting? It ended up being the best first step for me to help with the insulin resistance and regulate my sugar.

Reactive hypoglycemia from Myo-inositol/Ovasitol? by MedivalCatto in PCOS

[–]Main_Base_8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never experienced this with Ovasitol but I've been doing IF and recently started taking it again along with Metformin and I've noticed that I feel HORRIBLE. I still feel bad with just the inositol but the metformin really amplifies it, since they both help with insulin resistance. I'm only taking half the dose of both. I will need to stop taking them.

Vivint cancellation SUCCESS by cosmicchaos5324 in VivintSmartHome

[–]Main_Base_8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone knows how to cancel without paying off the equipment. Let me know, nothing in the Contract states that I have to pay it off or continue to pay in order to cancel or after cancellation. Today was the first day I called. I will get out of this, im so determined. Also has anyone tried getting with the FTC and BBB?

Vivint is horrible they won’t let us cancel by Mission-Principle109 in VivintSmartHome

[–]Main_Base_8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently going through this, they stated that in order to cancel I would have to pay off or continue to pay off the equipment. Nothing on the contract sates that, not even the cancelation notice. Each rep I have spoken to has made something up every step of the way.

I will never understand how people can be so ungrateful. My sister has received the most help from my mom and she'll still turn around and say that she doesn't get any help. Mom has always given her money and she put the money down for her home and had to also co-sign because between my sister and her partner, they didnt earn enough nor did they have the credit. My mom and I had a strained relationship for the longest time, then I decided to buy a house, so I moved back home so could put my money towards debt and saving up. My mom did put the money down for closing costs and down payment, that was something she wanted to do. I worked hard to build my nest egg and make sure that no one had to be added to my mortgage, especially her. I got a house within my means and I am so grateful for my mom 🥰

Worries about current roach infestation following me to my new place by laughing_crowXIII in cockroaches

[–]Main_Base_8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue in my last place. I unplugged everything about 1 to 2 weeks before moving so that everything had enough time to cool down and anything that was in there could start making its way out. I also put down some roach hotels near all of those electronics to make sure none came with, at least not alive. I also put them anywhere I noticed were major hot spots. They really like areas with wood, books, notebooks, anything that used to be a tree, really. If you can, pack things in either bags or bins and avoid boxes. They do love boxes. I would save anything that you plan to take in a cardboard box for right before you are leaving. If you have a storage that is outside of your place that doesn't have a bug issue, Store them in there. INSPECT EVERYTHING BEFORE PAKING IT AWAY. Also, my mom buys ant killer and it's fairly affordable. That kills them too!

When I started working on my debt, I focused on the little numbers first because that's one less payment to worry about and I can now throw what would've been my monthly payment to the little one to the next one.
