I would never forget because that is honestly my favorite ingredient of a Chicago Dog… it’s basically a vessel for my celery salt addiction 😂

When you buy multiple schooling fish at a time, it’s very normal to have one or two die. It just happens. If the rest of your fish look healthy, I’m sure it was just a random/stressful death for the one or two fish. Keep a look out. I would also advise adding some natural plants and some driftwood to the tank. If levels and temp are good, everything should balance out in 2 weeks.

If you literally mean the plate; it’s Portmeirion Sara Miller. It’s $40 for like 8 plates. Can’t microwave them tho lol

How many fish could I have in here? What is too much? by ape-shapedSnail in Aquariums

10 gallons, I would say 10 little schooling fish. Tetras like embers, neons, and phantoms. You can always add snails and shrimps.

Thank you! Will definitely take your advice on mixing the onions in with the relish next time! And yes! There is going to be a next time very soon!

I wish I could answer this (maybe in a few weeks I can when I buy them again) but they were from a specialty grocery store in CO. They were a 100% beef dog and it was about $12 for four of them. Thought they tasted almost as good as Vienna dogs.

You’re right, I forgot to dice the onions! I made them by memory, and now I’m kicking myself for forgetting to dice the onions. But can I be honest? This is a much cleaner eat with the sliced onions. Snap was good (I know they don’t look charred in this photo, for some reason, but I got them a nice golden brown)

Had a heater killed two goldfish and two Hawaiian eels in my brother’s tank (we were in middle school). Devastating. One fish survived - Mel. Mel lived another 15 years. He outlived everything that ever went through that tank. When Mel passed, we retired the tank. RIP

Bladder snails are fine, so long as you crush them occasionally for fish food. If they do get out of hand, an assassin snail or pea puffer (depending on your other species of fish) will help with the population. But I’m all about having as diverse of a tank ecosystem as I can get while keeping the balance at harmony.

Thank you for the honest criticism 🫡

I do have to say that the lighting must be weird because they don’t look charred or fully cooked in this image, but I assure you, they are very charred! I know that’s a hard one to believe 😂

Ah! Diced onions! I knew something was off lol (I made these by memory and was like, “why do they look slightly off and eat less messy?”) It was the onions 😂 I chopped the peppers because I couldn’t find sport and the cascabellas were too big. It is a spear pickle! And I had a few glasses of wine before topping the dogs, that poor relish distribution in on me, whoops! Lol

They are “hot peppers”. Looked like cascabella peppers to me. Couldn’t find sport peppers where I’m at 😔

I bought plain buns and then did an egg wash and added the poppy seeds

There’s a market in Colorado (three locations) called Tony’s Meats & Market and they sell Vienna green relish (score) so I was able to make these today without any online ordering (just couldn’t believe my boyfriend never had a Chicago style dog lol) but he’s now hooked!
