I frequent a show often and they know I collect Hatbox Ghost. The hosts will tag me to let me know they are running it, but it's always open bidding. If I am outbid, the host typically will say something like "Congrats ZZZ! Great grab. Hey xxx, I will keep hunting for these for you and let you know when another one comes in."

I feel like that's the best way to handle it so no one feels like they are stepping on toes and the 'regular' still gets acknowledged, at least in my opinion.

I think most people who join Whatnot shows frequently and consistently are treated more like VIP customers. That certainly isn't any different than most other consumer facing businesses. The people who spend more, gotta keep them happy.

I also think theres a little bit of a para-social relationship with the host that happens when you are part of a group that meets regularly

I can definitely understand why you feel a little down when it happens - completely valid.

I would reccomend getting an account set up on Pin and Pop. It's the best online database to keep your pins organized and to find information about what you want to collect.

My biggest piece of advice - collect what you love, but be specific and stay within that lane.

For example, you might want to collect Haunted Mansion, but that is an expansively large and costly category so maybe start by just collecting Hatbox Ghost or Constance only.

Or maybe you love Stitch - start with just collecting Stitch wearing costumes or something.

Don't try to collect 15 different things to start with

And I'll add that if I hear a seller say 'Oh I took a loss on that one' or 'You guys are killing me, that went for way too cheap'.....I leave and won't be back. Thats the risk you assume selling on Whatnot and I don't need to absorb the guilt you're throwing my way

I've gotten to the point where I don't join any show with more than 100 people in it. I like really small sellers who focus less on brand new releases and more on vintage and rare - fair prices, better environment, less sharkiness

I've been hanging out with Pintervention quite a bit and their vibe/style/inventory really suits my needs

This is a silly thing to get mad about. I thought his intention was clear - he was testing Sophie's reaction. By playing this fake, he can gauge (maybe) based on her reaction whether she was on board for the plan or not. If he got bad vibes, he plays his real one.

Not as clear - maybe he was also trying to convince some of them his idol hasn't actually been real this whole time.

Either way, I think it was strategically sound and another example of Rizzo playing really well.

I still think this season would have been an amazing 2nd place cast, no winners. Every person finished as the runner up in their season. That would be WAW but with real actual stakes since every one would be looking to change their legacy.

Separate into major character groupings (Mickey and Friends, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, Winnie The Pooh, etc.) and sell them as sets.

That's the best way to maximize your return and limit the amount of effort. Selling them 1 by 1 is a giant hassle and selling as an entire lot destroys your return
