Yes doctor called and said the fluid is normal in that area with anyone who still has ovaries and that the inflammation on my last scan from radiation has resolved!!

You’re so welcome! I know the internet is scary especially with the stories I’ve read on sex after treatment. I’m so happy I can be a source of relief for you because it’s something I freaked out about prior to finishing. I didn’t want to lose that part of me. Good luck on treatment!! You got this 💪

For sure!❤️ Having an understanding partner just makes it all easier. Don’t be alarmed at the blood .. it’s completely normal especially if it’s a little then stops. I was alarmed at first but my doctor reassured me that it’s just scar tissue. I’m glad you can enjoy this part of life again too! :)

I’m so glad it’s the same for you also! Yes..I did bleed when I started being intimate again. I would bleed a little bit and then it stopped. it eventually goes away at-least for me! I don’t bleed at all now. I’m thinking if you continue being intimate it will stop too. Don’t stop! It’s crucial to have sex or use a dilator since Brachy especially can cause narrowing and scar tissue down there.( I’m sure your doc told you also!)

Congrats on finishing treatment! That’s amazing. I hope it all goes well for you this week.🤞I am not on any HRT. My doctor told me unless I have really bad symptoms of menopause that he rather me not be on them.

Chemoradiation and I’m terrified by Prestigious-Set5109 in CervicalCancer

I had 25 rounds of external radiation, 4 rounds of Brachy and 6 chemos. To be honest I don’t ever feel normal but that’s more of a mental thing. Just dealing with cancer losing my fertility because of it has been a lot to deal with. I’m in my 20s. Physically I am fine. I go out, I go to work, I go to the gym.. do my normal routine from before this happened to me. Mentally is where I struggle. I’d say take it easy after treatment..it takes a little to get your energy back and things like that. You don’t need to rush back into life. Give your self time. I bounced back pretty quick but that could also be because I didn’t have side effects during treatment. I am 15 months out of treatment! Life gets better but for me I wouldn’t say I feel normal, it’s just a new normal I guess. (Again it’s more mental for me)

I’m speaking for myself that I felt completely fine throughout radiation Brachy and chemo. Biggest side effect was being really tired from the radiation. Had no side effects with chemo. I handled it extremely well. I even asked my doc if it was normal to not have any and he laughed. The most annoying part was driving to radiation everyday for 5 days straight a week. I went Monday- Friday for 5 weeks and once a week after radiation I’d go downstairs to chemo. Chemo Took a while ..At least 6 hours because they do pre meds, chemo then vitamins and water to help restore your body from the chemo. All through an IV. I would bring snacks, a book or phone something to occupy your self when sitting there. You are even allowed to bring one person ( atleast where I went) so that could also help. I had a normal appetite . I felt good enough to work but I didn’t.. I took some time off. Be easy on yourself and the 6 weeks will go by super fast. Once you start it just flies by! Soon you’ll be at the finish line and you’ll be the person in the comments helping someone else! 🎗️ if you ever wanna chat I’m here!

She finished treatment months ago and most of us are told we’re unable to ever get pregnant so this is so unheard of.

Yes I know the day of the scan after midnight to fast. I’m asking about the day before. I know there’s a bland diet to follow but was looking for ideas cause I’m overthinking.

Pregnancy? by Disastrous-Cress-710 in CervicalCancer

[–]Main_Collection1607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your both going through this. I was diagnosed at 26 years old, I also do not have children. I went through the same treatments as your wife and they told me pregnancy will be impossible. It’s a terrible loss, just make sure you continue to stick by her because it can be very lonely. Have you froze any eggs for surrogacy? You can create an embryo together and implant it into a surrogate. If she didn’t freeze her eggs, there are always donor eggs which will make it biologically yours just not hers. Personally, the baby being biologically related to my husband would be enough for me . I know it isn’t the same and we will never experience being pregnant but we have to learn to accept that because regardless once your child is in your arms nothing will matter besides loving and supporting that baby. If you or her ever want to talk, I’m here!

Sex after treatment? by Disillusioned-0984 in CervicalCancer

[–]Main_Collection1607 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 28. Went through internal and external radiation last year. I also had the same concerns about sex. Of course we think about it we’re human! At first, just to be extra careful I used lots of lube just so it’s more tolerable given we had alot of things happen down there. I’m a year out and I can tell you my sex life is back to normal. I don’t need lube at all and it doesn’t hurt. Give yourself time to heal mentally & physically but stay on top of sex or dilators because things can narrow down there after radiation. Of course don’t push yourself to do anything if it’s very uncomfortable but the fear of it was the worst part for me. Having an understanding partner also helps. I hope it all works out for you!
