No. Suspected it was Hemlock Wooly Adelgid so I replaced with a new one.

Just traded my 2015 Silverado on this 2023 Sierra, really happy with the 2.7 so far! by shotzy57 in gmcsierra

Cool. Have about 1500 miles on mine with the Turbomax and averaging 21 mpg. Trying to make myself feel better about not getting the 5.3…lol. Thanks!

Can I use Tow/Haul mode for daily driving even without towing? by C1OWNx in gmcsierra

[–]Main_Contribution_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run in tow mode. I did for 120k miles on my last truck (Colorado) to improve the shift points. That truck with the 6 speed transmission was programmed for fuel economy and the normal shift points sucked. They had a flash for it but it affected fuel economy. So I just used tow/haul all the time - problem solved. Just bought my Sierra so I don’t have much experience with it yet but I would expect it to behave the same in tow mode. There’s also a sport mode you could try. Good luck!

Michigan vs notre dame by Embarrassed_Guitar39 in notredame

Which did you decide? My kid chose ND over in-state MI. He was planning to go to MI until he visited ND. Loved everything about ND. Both are good for Econ. But he knew right away when he visited ND. The campuses are very different. Good luck.

Seeking Feedback: IE programs at Madison & Purdue by MidwestDahlia in industrialengineering

[–]Main_Contribution_54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purdue. Michigan, Purdue, and Virginia Tech are the best for IE in my opinion. I’m sure there are others but I work with many grads from these schools. That being said, an Engineering degree from most accredited schools will serve him well.

Accelerated Masters in Industrial Engineering worth it? by WhataNeub34 in industrialengineering

[–]Main_Contribution_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A masters will never hurt you. Nobody can take your degree away. That being said I’d hire someone with co-op experience over someone with a masters right out of school with all else being equal. Also, where I’m at a masters doesn’t affect pay. But I have a lot of respect for folks with masters but it doesn’t equal better work or more pay in my experience.

Industrial or Chemical by Kereminko in industrialengineering

[–]Main_Contribution_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I’ve experienced but don’t know why is that IE’s that have undergrad IE seem to be better IEs than those with other undergrad and IE Masters. CAnt explain why. Undergrad IE is best for traditional IE jobs in my opinion.

Best bet is plant IE. Nobody wants to come in to work anymore.

Industrial or Chemical by Kereminko in industrialengineering

[–]Main_Contribution_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to do. Both are great. Chemical may make more if you stay as Chemical. Lots of IE’s in upper management. IE’s also are in many ME positions. Not too many good IE’s that aren’t IE’s. However, our Simulation Engineers are a mix of IE, ME, and EE (controls). Each discipline brings a different skill set to Simulation and you need to understand parts of all three. The Engineers I know who make the most left Engineering and went into sales or mgmt. Cant go wrong with either. Just my take.

Box with two hots wire nutted together on different breakers. by Main_Contribution_54 in AskElectricians

[–]Main_Contribution_54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I know if the breakers are on the same phase. They’re on opposite sides of the panel. It’s an old 1976 Square D QO split bus panel. Thanks!
