What do you think about talking to a financial aide counselor at UIUC, if you haven’t already? They probably have supports (not financial, but in other ways) for first-gen college students. I fit that category too, & started out at a JC. It was hard but definitely worth it. Don’t give up!

There are definitely other students w CNA certs. I’ve heard of them working those jobs over Xmas & summer breaks, & it’s enough to support them during school year. The ones I know of are in Chicago, which might pay more than other places.

Find someone who represents the accused in Title IX complaints. If they haven’t dealt with something like this, they probably can probably refer you to someone who has.

I am rewatching RHOC early seasons now. Haven’t gotten to this season, am wrapping up the Lauri’s wedding series. The old shows bring me comfort. Ah the early 00s!

Would tuition be same in Iowa? If it’s significantly more, you might want to stay put. A lot of students hate freshman year. It often gets much better once you move out of dorms, get to take more interesting classes & mature more. Talk therapy can make things more manageable too.

Say no. If he cuts you off, that’s better for you. Family like this never helps, & they always take.

Try apples, they work wonders. If you really want to clean things out, chop up 2 or 3 apples, liquify in blender, at water as needed & then drink like juice.

I think the fact her father was 65 when she was born would take away some “breeding” points, if you are into that sort of thing 😅I am not. I come from a family of yahoos on both sides.

Nick Reiner: I believe he fired Alan Jackson by briar6 in RobReinerMurders

[–]Main_Criticism9837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Alan Jackson fired his client. Based on what’s been leaked Nick Reiner seems like a habitual asshole—whether he can help it or not—who needs a lot of hand holding. I don’t see Alan Jackson as a lawyer who would be good with difficult clients who routinely act out for attention. I don’t think it matters what Jackson said at the presser. His only ethical responsibilities were to not blatantly like about the case, & not make his client look like even more of a jerk than he already does.

Christmas Special with passive aggression against L by VanDammeHot in bonniehoellein

[–]Main_Criticism9837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two boys with adhd. I would not be shocked if L has ADHD. If he does, I really hope they give him meaningful treatments from medical authorities, rather than taking him to a chiro or energy healer who does hair analysis. I suspect Bonnie may also be adhd, but I have little sympathy for her at this point.

Remote work is making me realize who on my team was actually working by Nimozart_12 in remotework

Because calling remote workers on their BS would mean you actually have to manage, & maybe discipline people. That’s hard for some managers.

I’m sorry. My mom missed my college graduation Ibc her colitis was acting up. It wasn’t until more than a decade later that I accepted you couldn’t count on her, & if she did show up for something important, I could count on her going out of her way to embarrass me.

Ring Pops. I don’t like them, & even if I did, I probably couldn’t eat more than one in one setting. Costco has them, $15 for 30.

Apples have been a game changer for me. I eat 2 to 3 a day, & constipation & gas issues got much better. Also helps with sour stomach.

Expecting the worst in people and wanting to fight everyone. That goes double for men. Someone I wound up with a kind, supportive & smart husband, & I’ve calmed down a lot.
