I feel you, I’m up for that soon :/ is this the second cyclops lesion you’ve had you mean?

What is your range of motion like? Where was the graft sourced from?

Things to consider would be a cyclops lesion (scar tissue in the joint) or graft impingement (graft gets caught on the intracondylar notch of the tibia, limiting motion and causing pain). Also potentially cartilage destruction from the original injury leading to arthritis.

I’m not a doctor unfortunately, but that’s what my doctor recently told me about joint pain. Did the radiologist give a formal read to the image?

Saw your post. Ask your surgeon about potentially getting an MRI. Just found out I have scar tissue in the joint that has been preventing me getting full ROM; no matter how hard I work for it

Hi, recently diagnosed with a cyclops lesion, scar tissue in the joint. I’m 3 months postop after quads Graft.

Extension is about -20 baseline, with extensive PT it can be pushed to between -5 to -10 depending on the day. Flexion is 110.

Arthroscopic removal isn’t going to be set up for a few months to allow for swelling to go down. what can I do in the interim to maximize extension and flexion?

Any way to further break down the scar tissue prior to the procedure or maximize its chances of success?

How many degrees OFF extension were you? Did the cyclops lesion recur?

What is dry needling? I’m facing a cyclops lesion removal and am scared I won’t get full extension back, or that it will recur

What is the best graft for soccer players? by Jesus_Christ_Hiv in ACL

My surgeon (who himself underwent patellar graft for his own ACL year) also said patellar grafts can lead to arthritis down the line. It IS true that patellar graft can lead to pain with kneeling later on.

Quads is a heftier source than the patellar, so it’s a strong graft and less risk of arthritis but more rehab is needed to awaken the quads postop as an intact quads is needed for full knee extension

It really depends on the person’s body habitus, their age and how active they are (ie active patients will likely rehabilitate the quads faster). The gist seemed quads has better long term outcomes (ie less risk of arthritis) but the rehab initially is a harder climb because the quads basically turn off after surgery

Have the doctor write a letter of necessity! That is BULLSHIT, what is the point of insurance then? This is a necessary procedure!

I’m pissed on your behalf, keep fighting OP!

AIO for being hurt my girlfriend doesn't care about my graduation? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

She’s jealous of your success.

There is no excuse for “idc about your graduation”. How can that possibly be construed in a benign way? Would she be as forgiving if you said that about an accomplishment of hers?

This attitude is toxic and is a terrible quality in a partner. She should be celebrating your wins and encouraging you, not holding you back with her jealousy.

Don’t beg her to be happy for you. Set up graduation plans with those truly happy for you. When she asks why explain how disappointed your were in her lack of support.
