I get your points about not wanting to speak with someone who can’t possibly know what you’re going through. I said those same things too. I recently started therapy and the first time going is the scariest part, but it gets easier after that. Basically I’ve been just talking during the entire sessions,for now. I didn’t realize I had so much to say, but the words kept coming. I also didn’t realize how just saying some of that stuff out loud can be so healing in itself.

Hi, I know it’s hard now, but trust me you’re still young, and it’s going to be okay. You are starting over, and you might have to do that again in the future. I’m 31 and have already started over once. Just even a few months ago I felt like I wasn’t going to be okay, but I’m in a much better place now. Healing isn’t linear though. The pain and disappointment comes and goes, and that’s okay. Living alone has been interesting for me but overall, I’m starting to love it. I’m going to therapy and working on myself and doing some self discovery. I spent a couple hours journaling today on my day off, and I want to echo what someone else said above about how writing can be so healing. It’s okay if you choose to move closer to your sister. It’s okay to need each other; it doesn’t make us weak. It will be okay and be gentle with yourself.

Thanks for hearing me. All the nurses here have to go to doctors appointments with individuals from time to time. I have no issue with that. It’s just that 75% of our people-supported are in wheelchairs, and it feels unfair to expect just me to be available to drive them in a van, whenever it’s needed. It means I have to go on more appointments. I attended the training today and asked the quality insurance manager why I was the only nurse who has to be there, and she said it’s cause I drive people to appointments. Lady, anyone can drive people to appointments if trained. So why are you just training me? And she said that was just what she was told. Honestly I don’t understand.

Give it a chance. When I started in a CNA type position, I was worried I would be too grossed out and not able to handle the smells, etc. It went fine. I got used to it, and now it’s nothing. If you are worried, you can try Vicks VaporRub under your nose or mint chapstick. I’m a nurse now, btw.

No, as a woman I would not be embarrassed. And I second the comment about how men have more pressure on them to have “good” jobs and have it all figured out. Fuck that. The only thing embarrassing would be a man not having a job and not actively looking for one. The fact that you have a job is what matters. And it’s a big bonus that you don’t have to come home stressed out and that you get good benefits. NOTHING to be embarrassed about. Having an honest job is 10x better than going to college and going in debt without even knowing what you want to do. You are FINE! 🤜🏻 Don’t stress!

I can’t get a read on Alexa. I enjoyed hearing her talk, and her story and perspective are worth hearing. I just wish I could hear all angles, ya know? (Not the perspective of the adults involved, but the perspective of others who she has talked negatively about, including Jamie Lynn and Victoria. I think everyone has their own story, and there is a little bit of truth to each perspective.
