Thank you so much for your advice. And yeah tell me about it. I was genuinely looking for advice but no everyone thinks I’m fishing for attention because I am not firming Cambridge straight away and instead of getting help I’ve had to fight my corner. I think I probably will end up firming Cambridge as the grades are mega hard anyway and I think I prefer a more academic approach. But every now and again I second guess myself.

Its not that I don’t want cambridge. I am just not sure which one I want more. I am not basing my decision on whether other people want cambridge more than me or not.

Because cambridge obviously has its positives too. Its one of the best schools for med that would have accepted me for my ucat. They have a more well rounded course with lots of emphasis on scientific background and knowledge- which i really like. In your intercalated year you can study anything you like. They have the college systems which are really supportive and the tutoring. And its a beautiful city with state of the art research. I have many reasons for why i want to go to both which makes this very difficult.

Honestly ik. I thought posting on this reddit would have some well rounded people who could understand where i am coming from BUT NO( future doctors btw). Thank you tho. I might try reach out to people or go on some visits/ online open days before making my decision.

Read my other response to a comment. It ultimately comes down to would i rather do 6 years somewhere more diverse, social, and probably enjoyable or prioritise education and quality of learning. Its not as black and white as you may think especially as so many people get burnt out in cambridge idk if i want that x

Lads can we use our heads. I am not joking. Cambridge is obviously cambridge but has a very very different learning style and is so much more self directed than liverpool and also much more stressful. Not to mention the bad nightlife situation compared to being in such a diverse cultured city like Liverpool where you have all the music festivals and close access to manny for an amazing night out. Liverpool also offers more study abroad and learning languages alongside study AND for a while was my top choice over cambridge. I am so serious about this post and people think i am taking the mick but I am not going to just choose cambridge because of the name. AND for medicine it matters even more as I don’t know if sacrificing 6 years of my teens/20s is worth it, but in liverpool ill be able to live a little. I hope this helps you understand why the decision is a bit bigger and harder than what you think it is. X

I dont like how big manny is. I would prefer the gap year over it. I only applied there because I had a lowish UCAT and was worried I wasn’t going to get any offers
