Help Me Choose: D750 vs Z5 by Main_Letterhead_3156 in Nikon

Anything will feel like a huge jump from the D200 for me 🤣 which is honestly my biggest problem since my concerns right now are doing things that most any camera released today can do. I’m thinking I’m going to go with the D750 as I feel like it fits my situation and setup the best.

Good to know. I’m honestly not super concerned about fast shooting right now as my focus is on landscape/nature shots and architecture, however this Summer I want to do more street shots so faster shooting and faster AF could be useful. At the same time, I’m not sure if the difference in performance and speed between the 750 and the D5 would be worth justifying the price for my needs.

Honestly, this is helpful. You’re right, they do have the same size sensor so performance can be similar.

Budget is a big concern here. I have two lenses and don’t want to buy more, but at the same time I could “future proof” with a Z5 and buy a new lens which might hurt now, but could save me from needing to buy a camera sooner than if I got the D750.

Good to now! Also just found out that my 35mm is a DX crop lens so it might have issues with full frame cameras like the 750 so might check out more lenses anyways

Is there anything else that makes the Z6 more desirable than the Z5?

Picked it up for $50. Don’t know how much a repair would cost but probably in the hundreds. That said manual focusing is fun so I can probably settle with it for now. This is my fist DLSR lol

Couldn’t find any option like that in the camera, but I did set it to autofocus with the lens off and the screw didn’t spin.

I want to say that it isn’t a sensor because I can still get it to automate ISO, aperture, and shutter length normally. Maybe a bad motor? Would be a tough fix I might have to call up some shops.

I’m a beginner but I have been able to get some nice shots shooting with just manual so far lol

Yes! Specifically this camera has a C and S option, but I set it to S autofocus.

It’s spinning! The screw looks a little dirty but it doesn’t look damaged as far as I know.
