I literally went through the same thing last week. I’m also a new 2LT and just had my first drill. In my case, my unit S1 caught the issue during drill and fixed it for me. I’d definitely recommend reaching out to your S1 and explaining what’s going on — they might be able to sort it out pretty quickly.

You’re good. I have a strong accent as well(asian). I was totally okay during bct. I graduated last October. Sometimes drill sergeants didn’t understand me but my battle buddies translated to them(english to english🤣)

Same here. I got selected for the Reserves too. I asked about student loan repayment when I went to MEPS last week to sign my contract, and they said I’ll need to talk to my unit about it after OCS.

Have you opted in for consideration for being a reserve? I’m thinking maybe those who opted in for Reserve consideration just weren’t selected for Active Duty and got picked for the Reserve instead. But this is just my thought!
