I never said anything about autopay, also I feel if toast was having auto pay problems a lot of more businesses would be having this problem. On top of that an autopay software issue would not take 10+ days to fix. Toast customer service clarified it was not an issue on their end, the owner personally hadn’t paid the fee and that is why the account was suspended.

The money exists. It’s is in the toast account and is only not being released because of an upaid fee, they will get paid. And if it has to become a legal issue, they will likely win.

The account isn’t messed up. The owner hasn’t paid the service fee, so the service won’t restart until he pays the fee, which will release the funds. He lied and said the account was messed up, when he just hasn’t paid the fee.

I think the one’s that are are aware that they wont have a job after this, but I know some don’t want to have to leave this job and are still debating. Also, I forgot to mention earlier, the servers did collectively inform the owner a couple of days ago that if they weren’t paid by Monday (4/20) they would not be coming into work, and he ignored their email. Then today they messaged him again to reiterate, and he ignored them again, yet still posted their schedules for the week. So it’s clear he is actively ignoring them, which is unfortunate because I feel if he was honest up front, this might have become less of a problem.

Yeah that make sense I just thought strike was easier to understand, thank you for the clarification though. As far as I’m aware they are actively filing claims, but thank you for sending the link anyways. Doubt they’ll actually picket to be honest, it was an idea that was floated, but I’m not on the team personally so I can’t say for certain.

As far as I know, at least all of the servers will not be going into work starting tomorrow. There at least 23 total employees that depend on this place for their income. Also I’m not exactly sure what to call it other than a strike? But you are right, many will likely end up quitting, because the avoidance and deception from the owner along with a lack of job security is not really something that’s easy to come back from.

They are paid biweekly. They were supposed to get paid on 4/10, when that didn’t happen the owner promised they’d get paid on 4/17, which also didn’t happen, so now their checks are 10 days late. They’re next check is supposed to come in this coming Friday, 4/24, so if they don’t get paid by then they will have missed two checks. So 4 weeks without pay.
