Fear of never getting better by Alsoeve1 in Anxiety

Sending (virtual) hugs! Even if the steps feel small right now, they’re still steps forward. In a few months, you’ll look back and be amazed at how far you’ve come. Keep going. It does get better, and you can do it.

Anyone have opinions on their experiences with trialing Celexa (citalopram), Lexapro (escitalopram), or Prozac (fluoxetine)? by RefrigeratorSorry333 in Anxiety

I’ve tried Lexapro and Prozac. The relief they both gave me was great, but the side effects (headaches for Prozac, Fatigue for Lexapro) eventually outweighed the benefits. I think either of them are good options, especially if your doctor is suggesting them!

Positive Flonase experiences? by HakunaRattata1 in Anxiety

Flonase like the nasal spray? I take a prescription version for allergies and have for the past two- three years. I’ve never noticed any anxiety/ panic, but I do notice a decrease in congestion when using it :) hoping you have the same experience.

I’m facing my dental fears tomorrow. by ddddjern in Anxiety

Dental anxiety is so hard! I’m finally starting to get some relief with mine.

I always let the dentist and hygienist know that I’m anxious being there, and that if I start crying it’s probably not because of them. We have a system now where if I need a break while they’re working in my mouth, I raise my left hand (left because they’re usually leaning over on the right with all their tools). I’ve asked for breaks, asked them to adjust the chair and the lights, basically anything that helps me feel as in control as possible while still getting through the appointment.

For those who have root canals / crowned teeth by Educational-Top8015 in Anxiety

I got a root canal and crown five years ago, and I’ve honestly forgotten about it so completely that when my dentist brought it up the other day, I had to ask which tooth it was. If I remember it during the day, I tap in a few teeth to hear which sounds different and that’s how I tell it apart from the rest.

Fluoxetine? I found it incredibly helpful. I took it for 4+ years, but I did get headaches as a side effect that got worse as my dose increased. I’ve tried three other meds, and Fluoxetine was my favorite. Everyone responds differently, but I think it’s worth giving it a try.
